Halitopen - user of this site has asked me to publish info about his visit to the bad breath clinic. SO here it is:

My visit to Khoshboo Breath Odor Cinic.
Khoshboo, the name of Iranian Breath Odor Clinic, is a Persian word that means fragrant and sweet smelling.
Khoshboo clinic is located in central part of Iran in the city of Esfahan. This clinic has been founded by Iranian dentist Dr.A.Talebian who is interested in Halitosis treatment, and also a member of ISBOR.

However I called up the clinic on 20may 2006and an appointment for 23 may 2006 Dr.A.Talebian personally answerd my call and gave me some advices before going there . Those advices were as follows: being present at 8 am in clinic, not having breakfast, not scrapping flossing or brushing at that day, not taking antibiotic since recent 14days, not drinking water for 2-4 hours before going to clinic, avoiding any food containing union and garlic .
I was present in clinic at 8 am 23 may 2006. Dr.A.talebian accepted me with open arms and warmly. At first his secretary gave me a special questionnaire.
Dr.Talebian asked me to breathe through a plastic straw normally to measure the odor by his nose. This assessment is called Organoleptic assessment. The breath odor was scored through a" 0-5 scoring scale". My scores were as follows:
Oral odor=3 Left nostril =2 Right nostril =2 deep exhalation= 3
Anterior portion of tongue =4
Posterior portion of tongue= 5
Tonsil odor = 4
Gingival odor = 1

Then he examined my breath by Oral chroma. Oral chorma is a scientific halitosis instrument that evaluate three major VSC’s gases including hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide.
My breath was free of dimethyl sulfide and methyl mercaptan but there was 198ppb of sulfide hydrogen in my breath. And so total VSCs gases was 198.
The clinic specialist stressed that 198 isn’t a huge number. Then he showed me how to clean my tongue with a brush and a tongue scraper. And how to use the mouth wash. I did brush/scrape/rinse at 8:30 am and after that my breath was tested every half an hour to determine if my breath odorless. Surprisingly it was odorless up to 3 hours. The breath test finished at 12:00 noon and I left the clinic.
The doctor said to me if I follow his recommendations it would not necessary to visit again but if I would not satisfied with the treatment I should visit again to see what was wrong. Now I am following the doctor instructions and I am not sure whether I visit him again.I will explaine the exact result of the treatment in 3 weeks time.
Thank you

Halitopen
