I appreciate that BB is caused by different things in different people and that there may well not be a magic bullet that can help all sufferers across Types 1-4. However the pace we move towards helping people regardless of their cause is not going to improve unless this starts to get taken serious...

@ hal, as always I really value your input, thanks man. Anti-histamines were for some crazy itch I had that wouldn't go away, it was so bad I literally couldn't sleep without taking the tablets. I'm itch free now which is good. Anxiety perhaps also played a part in the dryness. Like I say though, I'...

Id like to add, if your not getting reactions your probably not cronic ....or even transient. It's as plain as day from other peoples reactions whether you stink, period. You'll get the odd polite person but the vast majority of people can't help but react. No reactions = no or low level BB and eve...

Re: Agree exactly

I really agree with what's his face that started. Because saliva flow cleanses the bacteria on the tongue causing it, as well as thinning the mucus from PND and even coating and washing it, and ESPECIALLY because saliva flow is controled by the parasympathetic nervous system (anxiety, fear, emotion...

Academic research project - bringing BB into my day-job!

I’ve documented my story in various posts on this forum. One day soon I will pull all these posts together so that all the details of my *journey* are in one post. I am unusually fired-up today following a long consultation yesterday at a Dental Hospital in London where they would not entertain the ...

Brightonguy, dry mouth in itself is a cause of BB. Do you have any idea what caused you to develop this? Could the same situation be affecting your nasal system in some way and causing it to smell at times? If your body is dehydrated (assuming it is) it will affect your digestive system in ways tha...

Thanks man, yeah too true. I can forgive ignorance, it's not their fault that they go through the whole of medical or dental school WITHOUT A SINGLE LECTURE ON BB in most cases. What I can't forgive is that rather than admit their ignorance they'll blabber on about mouthwashes which have no real eff...

...Hmmm, I'm really not sure when mine's worse. As already mentioned, it's so hard to judge. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say it got worse as the day progressed though. I'm sitting at work now and I can smell myself...I can tell from colleagues reactions that this is not in my head. This is after ...

If I had to guess though, I reckon this is more or less what the doc will say: "You don't have bad breath"..then I'll front him up with my horror stories which show unequivocally that I do have it a lot of the time and he'll probably say "Everyone has bad breath from time to time&quo...

Leave your chemicals and your scrubbing scraping and grinding for a few days. Just brush your teeth and floss. Keep your mouth hydrated and give your tongue a chance to settle down. Yep, I'm an increasingly firm believer in this. If I continue to improve in October like I have in September by virtu...

I still stick to my theory that unless the tissues of the tonsils are themselves infected (i.e. tonsillitis) then crypted tonsil skank/stones are actually a symptom of having BB - that any combination of high levels of VSCs, tongue skank, PND/sinus infection and gum/dental problems etc will all lea...

@mike.... December 2009 - Present: It's been a real problem!! I can often smell it and I get some very bad reactions from people, sometimes these people are more than 10 feet away. However, as per other posts I've written here, for about a month now things have been somewhat better. I still get some...
