If you have chronic nasal congestion and/or pressure/pain in the sinus cavities especially felt when leaning forward, the regular treatment initially would be the use of corticosteroid nasal sprays like Nasonex. You might also try saline nasal irrigation and antihistamines (allergy pills). A Compute...

deebo> Cupping my hands an try to smell has never worked for me. I assume the puff of exhaled air can't be smelled quickly enough that way. Moving my lower lips I guess lets the puff reach the nose fast enough. Also sticking my tongue out and letting the gases freely rise and enter my nose also work...

The lower lip test always works good for me too, and I think its an adequate method (a very sad truth for me).

I wonder why the lower lip test is mentioned so seldom as a breath test method? Doesn't it work for many of you?

I am also curious to know how SSRI- medicine improves non-imaginary bad breath. (If the medicine is used against halitophobia, I could understand though.) Do you mean that the SSRI's change the composition of your saliva or have an anti-inflammatory effect (in cases of chronic pharyngitis etc.)? Do ...

Tongue non-rollers and bad breath?

I wonder if tongue related bad breath sufferers are more common among people who can roll their tongue or vice versa among people who can not? Is there any correlation? I cant roll my tongue and bacteria and plaque sticks very easily. (I have no fungus related issues on my tongue). The surface of my...

Thanks hersheybar86 for this list. In addition I've tried CAPHOSOL, a calcium and phosphate rinse that is indicated for i) oral mucositis or ii) dryness of the mouth or throat (hyposalivation, xerostomia). I have chronic pharyngitis (the atrophic, dry kind) so this rinse has improved my throat/mouth...

Do you have excessive mucous production?

My tonsils were small and I didnt have any tonsil stones but during my tonsillectomy, a peritonsillar abscess was revealed. The surgery improved my condition a lot.

From your symtoms it seems like it could be tonsil related. Persistent colds or sore throats are symptoms of chronic tonsillitis. Increased mucous production is another common symptom. Do you have "tonsil stones"? If you touch your tonsils with your finger, does it smell? Do you have a per...

dick.karma> I dont feel that Betaine hcl improves my condition much anymore (not as it did during the first year of use) so now I'm trying to be without it (and I don't see it as a long term solution). I feel that my BB has gradually improved (very slowly though) since I had my tonsils removed so I ...

Betaine Hydrochloride on my tongue (!!) fights my BB :|

I'm a chronic BB sufferer for as long as I can remember (I'm 29 years old and still hanging in there). I had a peritonsillitis behind the right pharyngeal tonsil for ages which didn't reveal any typical symptoms nor give any indications for a tonsillectomy (enlarged tonsils, recurrent infections/sor...
