Today I visited 2 major stores in the hopes of finding a mouthwash that contains chlorine dioxide. I couldn't find any.

Some of them contained:
Titanium Dioxide
Zinc Lactate
Zinc Citrate

Definitely no chlorine dioxide.

Re: halitosisux

Do you know if long term use of chlorine dioxide has the same side effects as chlorhexidine ?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18672988
Chlorhexidine seems more effective but cannot use it more than 2 weeks due to potential side effects.

Bismuth Toxicity Bismuth is chemical element 83 and is considered one of the least toxic heavy metals. Since the early 18th century, bismuth has been used topically and in oral preparations for many common gastrointestinal (GI) upsets. Ninety-nine percent of ingested bismuth is not absorbed by the ...

Hello Mac,

I'm glad to hear that Pepto Bismol is working for you but you should keep in mind (from wikipedia):
Long-term use (greater than 6 weeks) may lead to accumulation and toxicity.[5] Some of the risks of salicylism can apply to the use of bismuth subsalicylate.[6][7][8]

shibby: Believe me you are in a better position than most of us because at least you tried. I don't even have the courage to ask a girl out. Haven't been on a date for a very very long time. On another note, I changed my strategy. For years, I have tried to find a mysterious sickness that caused thi...

You can try something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oErUYZgjxM Just go somewhere and ask some people that you will never see again if your breath smells bad. Or if you can't do this, here is another idea. Go to a big store like Ikea, find your target (probably an employee) and observe h...

Update: I believe I am bb-free. Not a single person showed no kind of reaction last week. I cannot even smell my morning breath. And most importantly, I asked a few very close friends to check my breath and they said it is gone. Yet I am still paranoid, whenever I see someone touch their nose I imme...

I hope you realize antibiotics will be a temporary solution. I believe they should only be used if you need to be confident for very important 10-15 days time, like job interviews or being intimate with someone.

Don't expect miracles, smell will come back a few days after you stop the medicine.

Re: halitosisux

I totally agree with you. This really looks like a waste of time. There are articles containing very crucial information about our cause shared in this thread, yet noone is responding. I guess people are still trying to find a miracle who will cure their bad breath overnight.

I contacted Prof. Bolin. He told me; - success rate of bismuth on halitosis patients is around 80% - dosage varies between 120mg and 300mg daily, depending on the patient (often 1 tablet is sufficient) - try to minimize sulphite intake (preservatives in fruit juices, delicatessen meat, dried fruits,...
