Good luck when you start Girlie Girl and Snobuni. I'm going to wait until after the holiday to start as well, to be able to eat whatever and possibly drink etc. I'm going to do metro, clarithromycin, and a PPI for two weeks. So it looks like we have three different combinations here between us. It w...

Drastic, Thanks so much for the well wishes. I hope this works not only for me, but that it will add to the hope for others also. Halitosisux, I'm so glad things are looking so promising for you. I've got half a mind to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth yanked, considering how little obvious pain you had...

Hey guys,

I haven't started the antibiotics yet. Some other non-health things came up that kept me pretty busy so I haven't been able to focus on that. I plan to start within the next week though.

I will let you all know how it goes.

ElGrizzle,

This connection is very fascinating to me.

I am 22, 6 foot or 6'1, and also weight only 140-145lbs. The most I have ever weighed is about 150, even during periods where I intentionally tried to gain weight.

Drastic, I have a family member who is essentially my doctor, so they are willing to help me try these ideas if they seem safe. I don't think getting prescribed Metronidazole is a big problem in the U.S. Isn't it a standard part of the h. pylori triple treatment in many cases? Snobuni, I'm intereste...

Hey girlie girl,

Do you know which combination of antibiotics and PPI you plan to try? I think there are a few different options.

ElGrizzle and Drastic, It's interesting about the hunger and thinness connection. I wouldn't say i'm abnormally hungry, but no matter how much I try to gain weight I never really can. I even tried intentionally to gain 10-20lbs to see if that change in my body would fix the BB. I went as far as addi...

Do any of you guys experience any type of anxiety? I'm a pretty nervous person in general, and sometimes I wonder if that contributes to me being skinny, and possibly even causes a combination of dry mouth and GERD symptoms that create BB.

Just wondering.

ElGrizzle,

I don't have acne on the back, or on the face either really since middle school.

I do however get really clogged pores on the sides of the nose and produce white heads sometimes. It's not really noticable at all to others, but maybe there is some kind of connection that makes it happen.

How feasible is it to live on 0 carbs permanently? I've never tried a completely carb free diet, but it sounds next to impossible.

I know it's worth it if it means the BB goes away, but yikes.

Hey ElGrizzle, Sorry to hear about your struggles, but it's great you seem to have a doctor who understands your problem and is willing to help you treat it through trial and error. I am 22 and thin as well. I wonder if body type has something to do with it in some cases. Or maybe a bacterial overgr...

Hey Halitosisux, I'm not much of a drinker, so it won't be much of a loss for me to skip a few drinks around the holidays. But I certainly see your point. Plus, no reason to go ahead with this until you're sure about the status of your situation with a healed gum. With 400 species of bacteria in the...

Hey Drastic, I'm glad the tonsillectomy helped to some degree. I agree too that its probably a ton of factors working together, and not necessarily one cause. I was pretty stressed the past two days over work and a girl and I noticed how incredible the impact was in making the BB worse. Life is hard...

Hey Drastic, I definitely plan on trying to take the antibiotics for two weeks, just to give it the best shot possible. I don't know enough about probiotics to use them effectively, but i'm definitely gonna try and eat plenty of yougurt during this time. As well as change my toothbrush often to prev...

Halitosisux, I think i'm ready to give the antibiotics a shot. I was just wondering before I did if you'd come to any other conclusions about what combination or timeline is the way to go? I know you've put a good deal of thought into this situation. I think i'm just going to try the triple therapy,...
