I've always found that when I cut out carbs from my diet, my depression gets a lot worse, and I've never been sure why. I did some searching and found out that carbs help produce serotonin in the brain, so obviously when you cut them out serotonin levels drop, particularly in women. This link: http:...

Wynasha, I've spoken to a couple of dentists about replacing my silver fillings, but, as with you, they've told me this isn't a good idea as there's no evidence of decay under the fillings that show up on an x-ray. I'm just wondering about a couple of things, firstly, can you describe the smell that...

It would be interesting to know how many people here suffer with a dry mouth or low saliva flow. I drink 2-3 litres of water a day, but still have a very dry mouth, I almost need to peel my tongue from the roof of my mouth as there's so little saliva. At my last ENT visit, the guy looked into my mou...

I was considering asking my doctor for antidepressants recently as my depression has been very bad the past few months, but then I researched the side effects and these include bad breath caused by low saliva flow which is caused by the medication!! So now I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to ...

Wynasha, From what I recall, the candida spit test involves covering the whole surface of a glass of water (a tall glass is best) with spit when you first wake up (before brushing, etc). You then need to cover it and wait a couple of hours before coming back to it. If the spit has turned into long s...

Hi Billie, I know exactly what you mean, doctors are idiots. I went to see mine on Monday, he made me breathe in his face and said you don't have bad breath. I wanted him to send me to an ENT, he said he would but that he was going to send a letter to the ENT telling him that I don't have a breath p...

Nice one Jimi, I agree!! :D I took my wisdoms out and this didn't improve my bb, but it was my decision to do this, I wasn't pushed into it against my will. It's a similar situation to my tonsillectomy, but I'm now able to rule these things out as possible causes of my bb and move onto the next theo...

Hi Integral, You say your molars haven't grown out of your gum properly and that it smells when you floss around that area? Is the gum covering the tooth at all? Have you read Halitosisuxes posts about his wisdom tooth? His gum was covering some of the tooth and it smelled bad, he had the tooth extr...

Apparently increased production of bile during the first few days of a fast is fairly normal, as is vomiting up this bile: ''The secretion of bile customarily continues during the early days of a fast. Indeed, it may be secreted in increased amounts. This is likely to be regurgitated into the stomac...

Hi Integral, I went to a breath clinic about 10 years ago and had a halimeter test and further treatment. I had to do all the same stuff you had to before the test and although I can't remember the exact read-out it was abnormal. After the 'treatment' my readout had gone down and was supposedly then...

Interesting...has anyone ever tried Naseptin for nasal bb? Is there any possibilty that this could make nasal bb worse as the bacteria become resistant? Might be worth giving this a go, is it prescription only?
