Imagine flushing a pipe full of crap with water, the water will just come out contaminated and smelly because of what it went through.
Now if the pipe is clean, water coming out the other end will NOT smell.

Are you kidding me? This is crazy, let me say that using saline water will get rid of mucus, don't go putting in stuff like honey, what if it rots there?
You'll end up with a worse infection.
Go get a CT scan, and use something safe like saline water.

@loyd99, my situation is different from yours. It comes mainly from the saliva rather than the throat. I think it's cause I have a serious infection in the maxillary sinus.
