@halitosisux, I believe my bad breath is from tonsils and tonsil stones. It can get pretty bad if I don't clean out my tonsils with hydrogen peroxide. Not room filling as far as I'm aware but enough to make someone recoil if they get quite close. i just got the sense that the mints weren't 'filling'...

My second ENT visit.

So I went to see a different ENT specialist a few weeks back and this time everything seemed a bit more official. He explained to me the procedure and that there is a chance of bleeding after the operation etc. Then I signed a form to say he'd explained all this. I was optimistic that something woul...

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with these. I found they only lasted just over an hour with me and I didn't really get any piece of mind that they were masking the smell. I don't think they'll be replacing chewing gum for me, annoying as it is.

Thanks for the input malory. I think you might be onto something about getting multiple people to pressure them. Also great point about getting it recognised as a disability. I'll email you next week when I've got more time.

Thanks SH and good luck with your endeavour. I try to remain optimistic. We are at a point where we have the opportunity to do something about this ourselves. Groups like this are a great start because we know we're not alone and have other people to confide in and can help each other. Even if we do...

Books

Are there any books that people have found resourceful or helpful in any way? Anything which you've found that can help to overcome life's challenges? I've recently read 'Man's Search for Meaning' by Victor E. Frankl. This guy was imprisoned in concentration camps and came out the other side. He was...

I'm taking action-your help is welcome.

I've decided to write to my MP about the plight of odour sufferers, see if we can get some wider exposure. They are there to serve us after all. If anyone has anything they want me to specifically mention in the letter then let me know and I'll include it. Jimi, I'm going to mention this site. As I'...

This is one of the funniest things I've read in ages. There is humour in our suffering. You've made my week :D

I should add I've tried other methods like using a syringe and cotton buds but I find this the easiest and most effective. Try it if you have tonsil bad breath.

I'm using hydrogen peroxide to clean out my tonsils. Get a cotton wool pad and soak it in Hydrogen Peroxide then squeeze it into the offending pockets where the smell and tonsil stones are coming from. This also helps to pull the stones out. Have to be careful though because doing it too vigorously ...

Thanks coconut and sadmum. No, I wouldn't kill myself but you're right I shouldn't even think about it. But finding out recently a friend has let me down and pushing myself through my comfort zone with a lot of things, not just this, I guess I'm a little bit more vulnerable than normal. Good that yo...

Clueless Doctors

After seeing an ENT specialist last November and him saying he'd write a letter to request a tonsillectomy, I've heard nothing since. I had no joy with the ENT department at the hospital so I went to see my GP again. The GP showed me the letter and it said that it would be difficult to get funding f...

What was the email campaign? I joined after that. Is it worth doing something like that again?

This is great news. It shows that it's being taken more seriously and by talking about it we are all doing our bit to working towards helping people with odour problems. Slowly but surely. I know it's hard but stay positive. :D
