Hi Guys

A progress report

Ive had chronic bb eggy smell from mouth and nose last 15 years. Lots of thick glue type pnd, all day long etc

2007
- septoplasty,
- turbinate reduction


2016 -
- Palatine Tonsils out - got rid of a certain type of smell

2017 -
- Lingual Tonsils - lazered got rid of/minimised the eggy type smell

I think i may be 75% cured, i think i had tonsil crypts and stones in lingual areas and also similar stuff in Palatine tonsils

Its been 1 week since Linguals have been lazered and so far its reduced a lot. I have PND so think its been collecting and bacteria created.

I will update you guys over the next few weeks.

any updates on your improvements? I hope your bad breath is still manageable, that would mean your did the right thing. If excess mucus causes bacteria to overpopulate those areas ( thus creating stones etc ) getting rid of them in the first place is quite effective I guess. Now bacteria has no place to stay, hopefully. Maybe you need some probiotics to re establish a good flora.

How much did it cost you to get your lingual tonsil lasered and where did you go to recieve treatment?

Sorry just seen some replies.

A further update, i still get an eggy smell however its reduced from what i was experiencing before. I think the tonsils been taken out and lazered made a smallish difference.

I still get:
- Small/medium amount of eggy smell from my nose and mouth,
- Lots of post nasal drip which collects at the back of my throat,
-Tongue gets white film on it

I suspect my causes are related to the PND and possibly the throat and stomach.

Does anyone know what I can do next? I feel like i have done so much and still have this smell.

No, I think you have type 1 and type 2 halitosis, from mouth and nose. VSC originate in tongue tissues, airway passages and sinus cavities.
Try sodiumhypochlorite rinse, must help you.

What do you think is causing the VSCs? I always use salt/bi carbonate powder to wash nose etc

I have PND which is constant.

I want to treat the root cause also if possible

Also how often a day/week should i use the bleach rinse?

there are some tabs the dr can prescribe to stop the PND temporarily. u can try them to stop the PND temporary and find if the bb was from it.

Join the laryngopharyngeal reflux group on facebook. When pepsin goes up to the throat and nose, it damages cells and causes inflammation. This may produce odor, and the bacteria can eat the cells and may produce an odor.

I've tried the bleach rinse, it only dried my mouth out even more and did nothing for my breath, it is not for everyone, my problem is the stomach creates too much acid, which create gaseous odors and post nasal drip, or my nasal drip creates acid in my stomach to over react

Tylar r u sure u don't have hpylori? Also my
Stomach was like u acid and gaseous I took
Gastritis medications and acid is less now but
I am still bloated. I think maybe u have bacterial
Overgrowth. Did U ever take antibiotics for a long time? 8( so then maybe it is as I say

I do believe a have bacteria overgrowth from taking antibiotics for more then two weeks, trying to combat my breath issues, I think I made matters worse, by taking the antibiotics, that is why I am taking the probotic that BB5yrs mention, on day two, no major improvement yet, less film on my tongue, still have breath odor
