Nasal Breath

Post by Lavender »

Hi all, Looks like I am cursed. After all these years of treatment from doctors, naturopaths, Homeopaths, and self-medication for white tongue and candida, spending thousands of dollars and becoming gluten-free and became a vegan I was content that I was moving in the right direction. However, lately, I have now developed a terrible nasal breath for the last couple of months. Regular netipot, Nasacort nasal spray, Apple cider vinegar, and medications for cleaning nasal cavities do not seem to help. The stench is room filling and life has become difficult.
I wonder if someone can offer me a solution. If so, please help. I am looking for solutions on the net and will keep you all posted

Hi,I was wondering, can you smell the nasal breath yourself or are you going off of reactions?

hello,

I have noticed that actually a lot of doctors even Dentist or Otolaryngologist (specialist in nose, throat and ears) are not 100% clear that bad smell coming out of the mouth and nose is produced by some types of bacteria living in those places, unfortunately bacteria living in the mouth can go also to live to your nose and the reaction with the mucus will produce the odour

the best way to help for a short period is the no medicated saline sprays

I have bad breath in both mouth and nose and I have been looking for answers and solutions for so many years but there is nothing solving the root, nothing so far able to replace the bad bacteria by good bacteria, the difference between the people with bad breath and people with bad breath is the bacteria living inside them,

I do not know what else to do , I am so afraid that cleaning so much and blowing so soften and strongly my nose actually will end affecting my ears because are connected

all the best for you

Thanks for your suggestions. I have been doing saline washes twice a day but it doesn't seem to help. I have an appointment with an ent doc next week. I hope the doc can suggest a remedy.

Hmm, if you can smell it coming from your nose I would say you have bacteria in your sinuses or something like that, or maybe you have build up of drainage on the back of your tongue and the smell is travelling out of your nose (I feel like this has happened to me before)
I've tried several different things in my neti pot, including grapefruit seed extract and j&j's baby shampoo. however, i don't believe i have a bacterial infection in my sinuses, because i can't smell anything in my nose, just have a lot of post nasal drip.
i've heard people have success with grapefruit seed extract if it is a problem with bacteria in the nasal passages because it's a natural antibiotic.
if you haven't tried it yet and plan to, my advice to you is to be very careful and only use 3-4 drops in your 8 oz of water in your neti pot. it will burn a little, but only minor and nothing to terrible (for me at least, for you it may be different, please be careful!)
for the baby shampoo, i tried that for 3 days and honestly couldnt stand the smell and having soap in my nose. that seems wrong. but a lot of people say it penetrates the biofilm which contains the bacteria.
this is probably all stuff you've heard of before, but if not, look into it a bit more because i've read stories of people with the nasal issue having success with these methods online, who knows, maybe it would work for your case.
wish you the best!
