Hi everyone, I am 16 years old and suffering from this BB issue. I also have chronic anxiety and OCD. I have to keep all my issues to myself because if i tell my family they just get angry and sad, this is very tough. Those who know me on this site know I am very optimistic and do my best to cheer everyone up. Recently I have been searching for a silver linings. I have found mine in several different things.

1. Religion - I am christian and my christian faith keeps me happy even though i get confused by it sometimes. Going to a church is great because there are very tolerant, understanding people there which is great. Some of my closes friends are from my church and youth group.
2. Exercise - I love riding my skateboard and I want to get a better one soon. I walk home from school which is a big 40 minutes trek
3. Positivity around me - One thing that keeps me going is the fact that my family is happy because of me. I do not complain anymore, I dont cry to them, I dont tell them my problems. Not because they are a bad family, they are amazing. But just because I know it will bring them down. I see them smiling laughing and I know it is because of me. I also try to make my friends at school happy by joking with them.
4. Music - listening to music takes my mind of my troubles and puts me in a zone where I feel safe and happy
5. Videogames - these take my mind off my issues and are just really fun and make me happy
6. Achievement - I do my best at school and exercising. When I reach a goal, I always feel happy and proud.
7. Socialising - I like to socialise with my family because they apparently cant smell me, so i am free to talk all I like. Even if they can actually smell me it doesnt matter, they are my family and will tolerate me
8. Eating healthy - eating healthy makes me feel happy and positive. I feel good and im not tired and sad because of bad food
9. Bringing every part of my life up - The way I see it, happiness comes from several different levels of things. If I increase my physical level by working out and eating healthy and looking good, that part of life will make me happy. If I do well at school and work out well, I feel a sense of achievement and joy, and that part of my life will make me happy. If I am nice to my friend and make them happy, it will make me happy because they will like me more, and that part of my life will make me happy etc. I think these all contribute to my core happiness level which is brought down by BB, but if I work on all these other things it brings my happiness up.
10. going out - this helps me clear my head, i like going for long walks, hikes, going to the movies, just seeing the world makes me feel great, there is so much you can enjoy that BB doesnt bring down like nature and exercise
