My wisdom teeth have been annoying for many years now as they protrude at a diagnal from the gums as they have no opposing bottom teeth. They have been mercilessly targeting my gums for at least 15 years of my life and worse after i've been partying when younger : ) but more so for BB purposes i feel that the sides exposed by growing diagnally have attracted old food in gum pockets and this would explain why i can do everyhing but only scrape away recent food to leave exposed old rotting food.

I havent been on the site for a while but one of the most memorable posts on here was of the poster Cured - who had their wisdom teeth removed and it cured their nasal BB ---> viewtopic.php?t=1358&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I also had professional tests done for mouth gasses where the specialist claimed that my tests were standard except for gasses that can be caused by teeth/gum disease and since i dont have gum disease i discussed gum pockets with him and he said thats a possibility.

...but anywas the proof is in the outcome and I will keep you posted cos like the majority here it is easy to get your hopes up about a cure only tio have it let you down big time

Hi deebas

Yes i was convinced my tonsils and the gunk coming from them were my cause, only to find they were just a symptom - the removal of which made no difference. That's why im having to fight the negativity that it might be my wisdom tooth incase it might turn out to be just another symptom of the greater problem, even though the area around this tooth smells so badly.

That thread by CURED was how i discovered this site a few weeks ago whilst searching for information. My impression is that it was his upper wisdom teeth invading his sinuses, which might possibly be happening in your case too. Wisdom teeth are notoriously difficult to clean in an overcrowded mouth and that alone may be a cause for some people - definitely worth having them out in any case.

Yes, sometimes while im driving in my car, I will be breathing through my nose, and the fan car will blow a bad smell back at me. And it kinda comes in waves (its not constant). That is definitely a hint. It smells to me like a "dark" fart. But this isn't all the time. And it may relate to a thick coating in the back of the throat. Also, I dont usually get comments or signs about a bad smell in the room, its only when I talk, especially loudly or laugh from a deep place.

My bedroom on the other hand, will smell like this fart smell, and people comment on that too. but thats only when I spend alot of time in the room.

I notice that the "fart" smell that comes from my nose happens more often and alot more strongly after drinking alcohol. even a few days after. So this could suggest that has something to do with a bacteria overgrowth (which is usually fed by sugar).

Now, I went on a completely sugar free diet. That means strictly eating nothing that can even be converted to a sugar in the body (even fruit). My diet was simply brown basmati rice, and chicken, or salmon, or eggs (no seasoning) (I read about the choline, but eggs don't seem to cause any problem for me) and cooked spinach or fresh salad with apple cider vinegar and olive oil(very simple). about a week in, there was no more smell coming from the nose, and taste in the mouth was improved, but I would still get bad taste and breath, which I think may be related to a dry mouth (which me and my doctor have not tried medication for yet).

Tried nasal sprays but they haven't helped. I've also seen an nasal ENT, he said fixing my deviated septum wont cure any bb.

As soon as I had some alcohol and a pepsi, the smell came back.

Its funny that everyone mentions amoxicillin, because I went to my doctor saying I wanted to try it for my bb simply because the only time I noticed I didn't have bb was when I was on it from getting my wisdom teeth removed. He said yes, if it works, then it could be an ulcer or H. Pylori. which when I got tested for did not show up... But he said it could still be there.

Ive noticed it help with the taste in the mouth a bit, but not so much the smell of the nose, but its only been a few days.

Tonight was probably one of the first nights I had that was actually sociable for a while. I have been keeping strict to the simple diet (and no alcohol which is very tough), this works wonders. and I didn't notice any bad reactions from people. even talking close (no covering of noses, turning away, comments, etc.) (even though I smelt/taste a bad smell in the back of my nasal passages/throat) as compared to 2 weeks ago when I had some alcohol, the same night I simply said one thing (my friend said something smells like shit, and another person there covered his nose).

The diet works very well, but is very difficult to stick too. Basically you need a rice cooker to keep the brown rice in, and frozen salmon patties(no sugars in the ingredients) for a quick fry in the freezer.

Does a flouride toothpaste cause dry mouth?
If so what can I use to prevent cavaties? I also need toothpaste for sensitivity too.

Has anyone also noticed that the smell coming from nose isn't constant? It's only there sometimes when you breathe out. I think it may have something to do with the bacteria in your mouth and throat area. I mean you should try putting some air in your mouth and then breathe the air out through your nose. When I did this I noticed that some people do react to it and then look into my direction (like where's that smell coming from?). Most of the times i cover my nose too to pretend it's not me and i smelled it too. Maybe sometimes without us noticing, the air has just passed the back of the tongue which turn the breath into bad breath when we are just breathing with our mouth closed. I dunno, this problem is weird. It seems like almost everyone has their own theories. :?

When I speak however I always get reactions, because it's just unbearable for them. It's also unbearable for me, because I can't stand people thinking that I have a bad oral hygiene.

There is a condition called

ATROPHIC RHINITIS

WHich causes foul odour from nose and mouth. Apparently, Atrophic Rhinitis is so Chronic that it can cause bad breath which is so abvious when you enter a room and it can fill an entire room as well.

Its worth checking out. I mentioned it in my thread BB and diseases.

I have BB from my nose too. I must have had it all along but probably started noticing it just recently.
I can't imagine having badb breath in the mouth and not being able to detect it from you nose. It looks impossible because of how openly these two are connected.

BBdude,

Some people have bad breath but it was not able to be detected from the nose. I dont know. Not everyone here on this board have bb from their nose as well.

I think the nasal passages and the back of the throat are all connected.

BBdude what about the back of the tongue and bb from the nose?

Do we really clean as far back at the tongue as we think we do?

Could the back of the tongue way past the V- shaped bumps be the cause of SOME not all BB from the nose????

I think that the bb bacteria seem to survive well at the back like far back of the tongue.

I remember going to GP and she checked my throat for infections and then commented that the far back of my tongue had white coating. It was so obvious something was going on back there but the funny part about all that was I had cleaned the back of my tongue thoroughly before leaving for the GP that day.

So, it seems all the bb bacteria are hiding at the back of the tongue and throat. Quite possibly the food source might be there to feed the bacteria from PND.

No surprise there if bb comes from the nose.

There is a yogic practice which is called a kriya, where at you take a long piece of gauze and dip it in salt water. You then swallow some of the gauze and pull it back out. It is difficult at first, but slowly you will can swallow a bit more each day.
Interesting because the yogic practice of a neti pot is also used, where at you rinse out the sinus canals.
Also they do a stomach churning exercise.

I wonder if all these things together will work.

I am going to try pranayama too (breathing exercises) and see if certain ones help.

actually yea, it says in the book you are supposed to practice it only with someone experienced. Yet, they book teaches you how to do it. Im sure if you researched it enough, and took it slowly and easily you could figure it out. But, I wouldn't advise doing it unless you are absolutely certain, you dont want anything getting stuck in your throat.

IF BB comes from the nose then could it be because of the stomach.

I question this really???????????????????????????????????????????

Could it be H. Pylori which is causing this BB from the nose?????????

Or is it from sinus?????????????????????????????????????????????

Drastic,

that is THE QUESTION! Some may say that the stench coming from the stomach may not be constant, only occasional, e.g. when burping. But how come when one eats garlic, one has constant bb? So obviously there is direct connection between stomach and mouth..
