A deviated septum doesn't cause bad breath. There are many people who have a deviated septum (very common) and don't have bad breath.

Bad Breath and Halitosis

{Upper Sinus infections can go through the sinus wall and into bone. In any case after these infections are cured, people can enter a prolonged state (years for many) of post nasal drip. If during this time anaerobic bacteria gets an opportunity to overpopulate it will. And it will feed off the PND causing bad breath.} I copied this from oraltech and it makes sense to me at least.

JennyWilson,
What you said about sinus infections is correct, but sinus infections are not caused by a deviated septum.
