Holistic cure?

Post by HaveFaith »

Hey guys!

After many years of searching for what the root of my problem was, I was relieved to find out that it is candida in my intestinal tract. How? I went to a Naturopath doctor, that was my last hope. Many times we look for short-cuts and easy solutions for this problem, but what we really need to do is search for the problem within ourselves. Take a look at your health how does your body react to certain foods? Or within certain environments?

I didn't even know bb can stem from a yeast infection.. it's amazing how the body works. Now I'm not assuring you that this may be your cause of bb, but I'm telling you to take a better look into your health, and maybe go and see a Naturopath see if they can help. Take it from me I haaated going to dentist after dentist and having them flag me off and look at me like I'm crazy. Doctor's aren't much help either all they do is throw you useless prescriptions..

Anyways I digress. I've tried many things mentioned on this site: Grape seed extract, nasal irrigation, tongue scraper etc etc.. even paid $800 to see a specialist for bb whoo didn't do much. I think it was all for the better which led me to where I am now.

Once I went to the naturpath she sent me to a food allergist who tested me on various foods to see my intolerance level, and then my bacteria intolerance. Found it high of candida (because of my diet high in wheat and sugar). My next step was altering my lifestyle by changing my diet. Very very hard at first and it still is but I can honeslty feel a difference. My mouth- my throat is odorless, my tongue stays relatively pink throughout the day, I do the quick bb check and find little to no odor. Not to mention it's great for my health. This diet is used in conjunction with supplements I take. All natural. So I suggest some of you on this site to stop wasting money on expensive medicines that prob add to your problem and hinder your health and to look for the natural way.

Btw, I am not fully cured. The only way I will be is when all of the candida is out of my system. When that happens is up to me and how willing I am to stick by this strict diet. But it can be done.

All the best to all of you. And if you have any suggestions for me, or any questions please mention them..

I'm so happy for you! And that you found the root of your problem. For most, I think that is the main obstacle....

My dentist asked me to get evaluated by naturapath. But since naturapaths are not covered under my insurance plan, I need to know before hand what kind of tests to perform and how much will the cost me approx.
What test did they perform to find that you have intestinal candida? If I may ask, how much does it cost for the test.

I am also interested in knowing the cost information/diet plan, please post. Whether or not candida is the problem, I bet many of us would benefit from a strict diet including a ton of fruits and vegetables and very little red meat, wheat, and sugar.

@Tibya

Yeah unfortunately Naturopath isn't covered. For me it was a free first visit, and then after I pay about $80/appointment which insurance reimburses me with. But she sent me to see a food allergist and depending how many things he tests you for (e.g., food senstivity, mold sensitivity, environment) it costs more. So that appointment cost $300, which I was able to claim for.

My naturopath concluded intestinal candida through questions she asked me. The significant white coating of the tongue after eating white flours/sweet foods and the irregular bowel movement I had (due to the inability to break down and digest certain foods)

@Jimi @Eric

My diet is in accordance to what my sensitivities are so it may vary for others, but the main intolerances are: white/whole wheat flours, yeast, sweeteners, dairy products, red meats, soy. And with candida, any type of sugar feeds the yeast (even natural fruit sugars) so I'm not supposed to eat any fruits either :(

I try and focus on what I can have my diet usually consists of eating eggs, chicken, salmon, any vegetable (except potato), water, lemon/lime. I can eat rice** brown rice of course or grains like quinoa. I can use seasonings such as parsely, oregano, sea salt etc. Coconut meat is a very good antifungal for candida so i try to eat that as much as I can - and I cook with olive oil or coconut oil.

There has to be a simple test to find that a person has intestinal candida through some test results. A set of questions look not so promising (but my dentists said this is how they were taught in medical school to diagnose candida back in her college days.It might have changed now and better lab /tests to confirm candida.)
Did she give any medication for this?

I suppose so, probably if you see a Gastrointestinal doctor. I might do that too and they would prob prescribe me medication. What I take now is natural supplements to help kill the yeast and assist in digesting foods.

I just found this lab online (type of lab test and cost of each test). https://www.accesalabs.com/toxin
