Wisdon tooth removal/Gum disease

Post by con »

Had my wisdom teeth out on Monday, if you suspect this might be the cause then get it done asap. In the UK there's a long waiting list so i paid £300 private to get my two lower one's out. I've just brushed my teeth just now and this is the freshest my breath has been for 15 years.

My private dentist also told me I had gum disease (periodontis) a condition that six state dentists failed to mention when I went for check ups over the last fifteen years. Motherfuckers. She told me the gum disease was the reason for my chronic halitosis and that If I undergo treatment then I will be cured in a matter of weeks. I'm in the UK and this is costing me around £600 for five appointments over the coming weeks but money is no object to find a cure.

My point is, go to a decent dentist and ascertain if you have gum disease because its possible your condition will be a result of this.

The amount of money I've wasted on vitimins, digestive enzymes, colodial silver when the culprit was staring me right in the face. Oh well better late than never.

I will keep you posted regarding my gum disease treatment, I'm going back in eight days.

C

Hey Con

I had all 4 of my wisdoms removed, and unfortunately for me this was not a solution. Dentists have told me my teeth/ gums are fairly healthy but I may consider periodontal treatment in the future. Please do keep us updated on the progress. thanks!

Just get it done private. At least see another NHS doctor. You need to say that its really painful (theres no way they can disprove or prove this) its impossible to clean and also say its causing you severe psychological trauma.

If they still say know whats a few hundred quid private?

Well I've been getting tips from Halitosisux about cleaning my wisdom teeth.

Now I'm gonna take his and your advice and get these bitches out, if it doesn't solve it, hey it's another cause eliminated. NHS dentist flat out refused but I don't care about paying aslong as it helps.

Thanks.

con-gratulations!

What were your bottom wisdom teeth like?

Are you taking any antibiotics for these extractions you just had done?

I remember how much my mouth changed when one of mine was pulled, but I still have one left and I'm interested to know what yours were like when you still had them. My remaining tooth is still under the gum.

Cheers, 4 days on from extraction I still smell, a bit less though. The periodontal treatment starts on Thursday so quite nervous. The dentist put some dye in my mouth and it was all over the gums so if this treatment doesnt work then I don't know what will!

Wisdom teeth were partially erupted and harboured loads of shit behind them. He didnt give me antibiotics I was just in bed for 4 days feeling weak. Takes a lot out of you.

Will update when I start the perio treatment
