oh okay lol
well I know that if your stomach doesn't have enough stomach acid and isn't acorrect low ph the esophageal valve doesn't close. When the valve doesn't close the stomach content gets in the esophagus and it causes GERD. so low stomach acid can cause gerd. there are a lot of sites which confirm this.
there is a test where you drink water with baking soda in the morning and see if you burp within 3 minutes. if you don't burp then you probably have low stomach acid. maybe you can try this.
and I know that if you have low stomach acid the bacterial composition in the stomach changes and bacteria can overgrow. and also the stomach barrier is impaired and it can come to erosions, gastritis etc..
well you can keep it in mind when you tried everything else.. maybe someone else has another idea

I'm still preparing for this procedure which advise me Gastroenterologist. It's a 24hour test, they put some thin 2mm tube for whole day and measuring with sensors on this tube. It's not pleasent thing, but they diagnose you acid problems.
