I tried taking metronidazole and i stopped after 5 tablets, because i started experiencing those tingling side effects. I just noticed my saliva having no smell at all even when i just woke up, but my bb is still there. How many tablets did you take per day? Didn't you experience any side effects?

I experienced unbearable headaches one night and a tingling feeling near my ear on several days. Didn't stop taking it anyway. Side effects went away after the end of the course. I took "Metronidazol Heumann 400" - two pills a day.

I have read of some people who had long lasting side effects - nothing to joke with. Make sure to ask your doctor on which side effects you should stop taking the tablets. My doctor said if I'd experienced diarrhoea I should have stopped immediately.

Edit for clarification: Metronidazol Heumann 400mg - 14 tablets (->two a day for a week). Swallow them.

Oh i see, well the problem would be no doctor prescribed me metronidazole, i only bought it from a small drugstore in our area. They don't really require prescriptions, they just sell you whatever you need. I forgot how many milligrams of metronidazole did i buy, but i took a tablet once per day. I'll google that brand that you bought, i hope it' available here in my country. My bb is room filling though, and i have nasal bb too, but no pnd, so i won't expect that much.

I can't believe that it can be that a big deal to get metronidazole if you are open about your problems towards your doctor - and politely, but a bit persistent. If your doctors can't help you in another way - what do they do? Say "sorry I can't to anything for you, because I don't know what to do - but I won't fulfill your wish to get metronidazole" - I can't believe that. I'm quite sure everyone can find a doctor who is willing to write a prescription quite easily.

Oh i think i relayed my message wrong, i never consulted a doctor regarding my intent to use metronidazole, i just bought it directly. Since from my experience, the 3 doctors that i went to didn't really acknowledge that i have BB (they "can't" smell anything, yeah right) so i think that it's useless to still ask for a prescription. I'm thinking to myself, they can't find the cause anyway, so why would they directly tell me that i have BB right?

You should definitely find a person you can trust who says openly whether she/he perceives your breath as smelling bad or not. Family? Friends? One person should be enough. It's just so annoying that our society lies such problems away instead of talking about them more openly.

To be honest: I think most of the people on this board suffer over years because they don't have a person they can really trust and they feel ashamed. In case they would get such a person and would talk to doctors openly about the problem they would be cured very soon. Instead they life a miserable life - just because it's such a stigma in our society.

It's horrible. It's just as horribly wrong as being opposed to free healthcare and calling it socialism.

Hi aues,

Have you ever used antibiotics before taking Metronidazole?
And did you experience that when you still had bb before, bb reduced significantly when you got heavy flu, i mean thick mucus?

And how long did you suffer bb untill you cured? Did your bb come with your puberty?

do you think you'd still be cured if you didn't remove wisdoms or tonsils, and only taking Metronidazole?

Yes - but it didn't have any effect on my bb.

Maybe for about eight years. So yes: It started in puberty. Maybe bad breath can come from wisdom teeth even when the bad breath starts in puberty.

To be honest: I can't say this for sure. But I believe the bad breath would have come back after some weeks in case I just had taken Metronidazole without getting tonsils and wisdom teeth removal.

And Aues, could I ask you some more questions to check for some systems

- Did your bb better in some times like at night, in summer, hot climate or just constant all the time?

- Have you ever go on raw diet and the results?

- Do you have any other disorders that come with the occurence of bb like sleep disorder, fast heart rate or anything else?

- Do you often have diarrhea?

And could you give me an advice that if I should take Metronidazole alone or apply the triple therapy including Metronidazole?

Thank you

I think constant all the time.
daan wrote: - Have you ever go on raw diet and the results?
Haven't tried raw - but went gluten-free, soy-free and vegan at the same time for like ten days. No improvement.

Actually I might have some kind of sleep disorder: At least it takes me longer to fall asleep than it takes for other people.

daan wrote: - Do you often have diarrhea?
Not really.

Triple Thearpy is for treating H. Pylori, right? So just take metronidazole solely.
