Went to see ENT
Went to see ENT
I know that my BB was stinking that day when she examined me because I had a sour taste and even though, I chewed gum right before seeing her, I knew it very noticable. I was a little embarassed to bring up my BB, so I didn't talk to her about right away. Besides, it's very awkward to talk about BB when your BB was stinking that same day! I was pretty sure she knew what I wanted to see her about but neither she nor I brought it up until later on.
The first thing she did was use a camera to check my nostrils and the back of my throat. I asked her to check if I had any tonsil stones and she said she couldn't see any. She said that my nostrils constricted and my throat was inflammed. Also she said it there was acid in my throat due to acid reflux. After wards, I asked her if I needed to take out my tonsils and she said before we do that, try some medicines first. She prescribes me a sinus flush and for acid reflux. she said we might have to do surgery anyway to for the sinus problems Im having and removal of the tonsil, but she wants to take it slowly before going to surgery.
It was toward the end that I finally was able to bring up my BB. Since I was the last person that day, she said that no one was there. We talked a good 15 miniutes on the issue and she is very educated on the matter and said she has worked with patients that have chronic BB. She said that it could be my sinus constriction that's causing it or the acid reflux or my tonsils. For now, she wants me to try the sinus flushes and acid reflux to see it does anything. I really doubt it, but at least I can try and I like the fact that she didn't rush to surgery right away.
I have another appointment with her in 4 weeks to see how its going and do a CT scan of my sinuses. Eventually, it looks like I will need to get surgery; not only for BB but for my breathing problems I have. My advice is to go see an ENT and don't feel embarass to talk to them about your problems, they are there to help out.
