Its common sense.

Theirs something wrong with us.

Theirs something not functioning properly.
Theirs something not doing its job?

We dont know.

Although their is a cure to everything
Most of the cures we dont know.

Scientist are focusing on cures for HIV/AIDS, CANCER.

Who cares about bad breath, unless you suffer from it....

So i thought.. IF we pile up everything we learnt together, from since this site was born... maybe maybe it will give us a cure, to make the perfect rouitine, abit like my begginners guide....

Im sure you would all spend 2hrs + on a routine... who wouldnt....

Well if it doesnt cure us it must definatly help us.....

In my opinion, the reason there isn't cure is because BB is a symptom, not a disease. On top of that, we don't even know what causes this symptom. How can we even find a cure when we don't even know what the problem is? Treating the symptom has been a waste of time, BB boards have been around for about 10 years and we haven't made much progress :/

A few years ago there wasn't even a forum where you could talk about bb. Just healthboards, but their rules were too strict, as for the other forums, no one ever visited those.

Not true. There was 2 BB groups on yahoo, created around 1997(?), one was Hope4us, the other was Breathhelp4u. Both had thousands of messages. The latter had about as many daily messages as this one.

"No one ever visited those".

Yahoo is only #1 on Alexa.

Everybody can get bad breath sometimes, but for those with chronic halitosis I've truly come to believe the main cause for over 90% of us is a peculiar oral anatomy (the way our teeth, gums and tongue have grown in and are positioned in our mouth) that most other people lack that traps food debris from food we eat somewhere in our mouths, allowing bacteria to feed on it and produce foul odor all the time. And when we go to clean it with brushing and flossing we can't reach the area well enough to clean it properly, leaving the bacteria to cause more odor. Antiseptic mouth rinses kill the bacteria, but with their food source (food debris) out of cleaning reach and ever-present, they grow back shortly and begin feeding and causing odor again.

Some blame the tongue, but I blame the gums most (that is, unless one still has their adenoids and tonsils in) because nothing can remain trapped on the tongue forever. I've come to appreciate how much real estate the mouth really has for baceria to play on, how little of it they actually need to make our lives miserable and the wide array of odors they can cause.

If there's a solution for any of us, it isn't going to come from a pharmacy, health store, or by staying out of a certain supermarket aisle, but only on a dentist's/orthodontist's/periodontist's/oral surgeon's/ENT's operating table through some rearranging of the offending part of our anatomy that can allow it be cleaned properly (or otherwise having it removed entirely).

At the very least, everyone with chronic halitosis should have one consult with a sympathetic gum specialist (periodontist).

Some might disagree, but that's my philosophy on causes and solutions to this problem in general.

Sorry, I forgot about yahoo, the #1.

I got access to one of the 2 yahoo groups you mentioned a few years ago. I've seen how frustrated some of those members were that they started fighting each other. Even worse than on this forum. But I guess "fighting" is just part of a forum.
