Donations - WE NEED MONEY URGENTLY!! - Or the site is down

Come on people, many people are getting cured here, I think everybody who is getting cured should make a donation. This site saved your life.

We need to cover the costs for the site, it has like 1500 visitors per day, soon it will have even more. And we will need to move it to another server. already now people are experiencing slow browsing.

And server like that costs 300 $. I am not paying for it from my pocket, I am not rich, I am afraid I will have to close the site down if the traffic increases so fast.

I am sorry guys, but current host wants to close my site down, it received a lot of traffic and eats servers resources, I can not pay every month 300, 400 $ just for dedicated server.

I would need to close the site down, I am sorry, we don't have any sponsors, I lost my job, I am sorry really, till I get some money the site will have to go offline.

I pray to god we get a sponsor somehow. Otherwise I have to shut the site down.

Does anybody have any recommendations?*

Hey Jimi,

How about you give us all a total amount that you need, and then we can all work towards that goal. Perhaps you could make some little widget that shows how much we've collected towards keeping the site up and running, kinda like they do for charity or donations websites. That way it would give people motivation to donate.

Also, perhaps instead of having fixed donation amounts in your paypal donation button, maybe you could make it where people can donate however much money they want too. I know 10 euros doesn't seem like a lot, but to some people in this difficult economy 10 euros might mean the difference between eating for the next couple days or not. But maybe if they were free to choose their donation amount, they would be more willing to donate. 1 or 2 euros can add up if a lot of people are donating.

Well we need around 250 eur per month. THe site is getting too big. THey can not even make a backup anymore the site is getting too big.

How about looking into getting a dedicated section on here for sponsorship or for advertisements, if its on a dedicated section then it doesn't become too intrusive to site users and they can go view the products as they wish, Get some of the great independent companies to advertises like " tounge scraper manufacturers or Fluoride free toothpastes...

I tried like wrigley ...... Katz .... nobody wants, nobody even asked to sponsor us. Maybe I will beg them to help us so we do not go offline.

For now I received 10 $, each month I would have to collect at least 300, seems not possible.

I`m not a techie but if we could coordinate our time of visits to the site then maybe there would be less traffic. I mean if each member would have a delegated time of visit depending on his/her timezone then we could avoid this problem.
Maybe if you don`t allow guests unless they sign up then it would be easier to manage our time schedules.

I could donate 10 euros but not every month & I think it will be hard to operate the site this way.

About Katz, maybe if you show him a list of how many members in here buys from him then he will change his mind. I myself is guilty of buying products from him so maybe if there are a hundred people that makes that list then he will sponsor us. Another plus factor for the site is that members are from all over the world. Any businessman would not be able to resist that.

Show him some figures. Tell him that 300euros is nothing compared to the amount he`s going to save in advertisements on tv,magazines,etc. Tell him how many people come in here willing to buy quality products that will help with their halitosis. Show him how this site improved from 50 members to a thousand.

if the site does go under make sure you mirror everything or someone does so all the weath of information, especially the cured posts don't go away. this is really important. maybe if you gave details we could try to see if whoever hosts bodyodorsupport.com can host this forum and we can just have the old url badbreathhaltosis.com redirect to the new host. you know what i'm talking about?

we can't lose the important posts here... lives are in the balance. imagine if someone googles and doesn't across a post that could cure them, like many people who came across halitosissux's post...

also i just gotta say you might just want to try a new host like justhost.com or Bluehost. webhosting isn't that expensive, especially at that traffic 1,500 per day. if the bandwith is a problem get rid of the banner maybe.. i dunno just ideas.

i think we should also eliminate the not so important features of the site...such as the chat, etc and keep the basic and most important aspects of the site.

btw i donated some money...guys lets each of us donate the basic amounts right now to keep the site moving.
