PND results from swollen nasal tissue or from reflux. So you have 2 potential causes. Swollen nasal tissue is related to sinusitis, allergies, molds etc. I'm not quite sure what causes reflux, e.g. gastric functions / organs.
You can find the reason by excluding factors: Take proton-pump inhibitors for a while to make sure it's not reflux (consider right day time etc. of consume).
If it's nasal, you should have a CT, some swabs and an allergy check.
As soon as you know the reason, you should be able to fight it.

Good thinking George80,

I agree, it`s just that I`ve been lingering between PND and LPR since I have both and I`m not sure which one is the culprit

Hmmm. Not sure about the PPIs.
I have had pnd for 14 years and was once told to take proton pump inhibitors as the ENT dr thought it could be a case of GERD. Thankfully I did not take the PPIs. They reduce your stomach acid and leave your intestines more vulnerable to harmful bacteria/infections. I later discovered I had dysbiosis and parasites and the PPIs would only have made things worse by further upsetting the balance of good/bad bacteria in my damaged stomach. Clinical trial is not a good method of diagnosis because you can possibly upset the balance within your body.

It turned out I have TMAU. still have pnd too. Test for this by all means - you just pee in a pot!

I believe PND is a chronic condition just like gastritis, sinusitis, etc. which may only be subdued

Guys read this article:
http://www.halimeter.com/halclinic.htm

It really makes sense. Maybe we are giving up too easily. It's obvious that there is no magical cure for bb which will fix it in a few days (except for a few lucky person). First we should go see a dentist, ENT specialist and GI specialist, get tested, use pills. Go see as many doctors as you wish till you are satisfied that there is no systemic disease involved. That is the point where most of us just give up. Depression takes over cause we realize that there is no cure.

I belive my bb cannot be cured but can be managed. Years of ignorance made the balance in my mouth even worse.
Proper treatment of periodontal disease and a comprehensive oral hygiene regimen, comprising mechanical and chemical cleaning of the mucosal surfaces of the tongue, pharynx and the nasal cavity, can give good results
Worst case scenario: There is no cure, we have to live with bb for the rest of our lives. Then why not give it a try?

Hey guys,
I too would love to be able to find a cure for pnd.
My sinuses have been causing me a problem now for at least 15 years.
The ENT specialist said i suffer from non allergic rhinitis. Non allergic as i have had two allergy tests over the years and both come back negative.
I have had a camera inside my stomach and i have a sliding hiatus hernia.
I have been on lansoprazole tablets for acid reflux as i get it really bad, obviously i know why after i had the camera.
The tablets make a little difference to the reflux but have not altered the BB.
I have just started using my neti pot again with salt after trying it with xylitol for a number of weeks.
I don't know what is causing the smell, the nose or the stomach.

Popaloo,

I have the same problems - non-alergic rhinitis, PND, hiatus hernia (which I fixed a year and a half ago with no effect for my bb). There`s a possibility that reflux is causing PND, but you can`t be sure. I think the solution is to keep both PND and reflux under control and this should help.
