Hi to all on this forum,
I have been reading posts for some time, my problem (I would say Jimi, it's as bad as you have it now) got amped up in November of 2011. My breath reaks....from nose and mouth I think. People from yards away, across the office or store, smell this stink. I am a 40 year old woman. I was just starting a new awesome job and had gotten scholarships for college to start in January 2012 when this got so bad, people rub their nose, some people will actually have their eyes water and cough, throat clearing...you name it. I am a pretty, athletic weightlifting woman and I cannot get this to stop, not even for a few minutes.. I left the job, dropped my classes on the first day and went home and got drunk. I had quit drinking some time before. I just got dental coverage as of today. No medical. Have been to ENT and GI docs. ENT said LPR (silent reflux) and oral thrush (I have taken meds for both). I am HIV negative, had that checked. Have had liver function tested, it is working fine. Went to ER to get that done as I do not have medical. Went to dentist previously but all he could do was look in my mouth and say that he didn't see any real problems.
I just have to get this fixed. I believe I have had bad breath since at least age 20. Not to this degree though. I am afraid to leave the house and if I have to go get groceries, it is torture. I am staring at Pylera (triple meds for undiagnosed H Pylori) that were given to me by the GI doctor. I am not drinking. I am on oral yeast liquid swish and my tongue looks better, but it still has a coating on it (my thoughts are bacteria now, not yeast). I've done the scrapers etc, etc, etc.....I am having tons of digestive issues.....constipation, gas, discomfort, stomach making lots of noise, anxiety, now it has gone into my sinus so my nose is stuffed up. My eyes are watery and tired looking. I have been taking Prilosec for months now and it doesn't seem to stop anything regarding my reflux condition. I have "water brash" in my mouth. I can actually FEEL a bubbling sensation that eminates from the back of my throat...feels something like soda back there.
I have perhaps 4 crowns with some root canals. One of which always stinks when I floss it...it was done by my Dad's cheap dentist and it broke or pretty much shattered when he first put it on two times. I believe it is most certainly a bad crown.
So where do I start? The Pylera is what I plan to take starting tomorrow. I cannot handle this. Could this all be a result of H Pylori? The GI doc just speculated that is what it is. No tests were run due to lack of funds/insurance. If I have reflux, would it fill a room? Is it in my mouth or nose? Could it be that one bad crown that stunk so bad when they took it off years back, three years back? Does H Pylori cause reflux or does it just increase the bad breath? Do other people with reflux not respond to the antacid medication? I do not understand where it comes from, but I know I HATE it. Please help from anyone here. I feel so alone.
Thanks and best wishes to everyone, thissux
Please HELP!!! This just got servere last year in November..
Well, you're definitely not alone.
I have no idea what your problem is though. I have no idea what my problem is. Barely anyone here knows anything about their problem other than that they stink..
For you to have so many symptoms, like many of us do, I would have to think it has something to do with a change in bacterial flora..
Tonsil stones.. stinky teeth.. digestive issues.. It's not exclusively oral just because your teeth stink.. If it's everywhere else in the body, the apparent oral problems that dentists and doctors like to focus on are probably merely a symptom of what's happening throughout the entire body.

Hi Mike,
I know what you are saying. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what happened here. It is ruining my life and my self-esteem. I have always been a people person and this is shattering my ability to talk to anyone. It is just terrible. It is frustrating as all get out.
My GI doctor gave me the antibiotics and today is day three. I have a rank taste in my mouth and I think it is acid reflux, but I don't know if it is a side effect or if the meds are irritating my condition. It is the Pylera meds for H Pylori. Heavy duty stuff, ten days worth.
I do not go to the gym anymore....and that was a HUGE part of my life and my stress management. I can barely handle going to the grocery store or anything that I have to speak to someone. Does everyone with reflux (mine is the LPR variety) have this horrible breath? I think I had bad breath on occassion before, but I could brush and get rid of it. I do notice when I floss around this crappy crown I have and it (the floss) generally stinks in that area, is concentrated there. Could that be the issue? So bacteria in my mouth or in my body....i.e. H Pylori? This is a mess and it makes me feel sad and upset. What does everyone do for a living with this problem? I am unsure what to do. I am at a loss here. Why can't doctors and dentists get this thing? I know bacteria can be a bear to deal with but geez. Thanks for responding to my post. I am feeling very bummed out.
All the best Mike

sequence of events
After I do a sinus rinse, I still need to suck snot that's left (way in the back) down the back of my throat and keep doing that for a while until nothing more is back there. Only then can I brush my tongue and roof of my mouth. Otherwise if I simply rinse my sinuses and then brush out my mouth, then there's still residual snot back there dripping bacteria slowly onto the back of the roof of my mouth and from there it makes its way to my tongue since the two surfaces basically touch. You'll be able to taste the residual snot when you suck it into your throat, and that's what's contaminating everything throughout the day. I have allergies, and no tonsils. If you have tonsils then there's a whole potential other problem with the crypts catching post nasal drip and food residue. In Christ, Mike
