I guess we all pretty much know by now that this story is bullshit and NO rifaximin did NOTHING for my bb! I think my cause is due to a certain type of bacteria inside of me that is breaking down too much methanethiol turning it into dimethyl sulfide and this over-abundance is causing me to suffer from dimethylsulfidemia (the un-named metabolic condition). Thereby cause my body to release the over abundance of dimethyl sulfide (which is extremely toxic smelling) into my blood and my body is detoxing it through my lungs. Btw the largest detoxing organ is the skin so this could contribute to BO as well. Atleast that's the best way my lack of understanding can descibe it. I'm not science savvy at all but I looking into bloodborne or systematic halitosis and I think this is it for me. I typed in Google search engine 'how to get remove methanethiol dimethyl sulfide smell' and came across this article http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2930168
Are there any science heads who understands this stuff more thoroughly that can shed alittle light on this. From what I gather from searching online Thiobacillus thioparus is a type of bacteria but don't no much else about it or if it is even safe. Can anyone add to this?

"? Reminiscent of the so called systemic candidosis syndrome, purported to produce an odor described as musty, mousy or yeasty body odor/halitosis."
I'm quite sure, that eating habits and immune disorders are strongly related. [/b]

Btw those who would classify their bb as toxic or an irritant should definitely join the discussion. If your bb or presence cause ppl to become bothered as if smelling a harsh chemical or toxin it could more than likely be this condition as dimethyl sulfide itself is extremely toxic and can irritate the eyes, sinuses, and skin.

but vaginal candida/ fungal infection does have a smell = moldy cheese [sorry for being graphic]. I think it just depends on what type of BB you have. I would classify mines as Type 1 and its a sour type of smell, which is why I am testing out the candida theory for now.Shit4Breath wrote:This is very plausible because personally I never understood how candida could cause bb when fungus itself doesn't have a terribly offensive odor (btw I do believe systematic candida is a problem for other issues such as allergies).

The next day I had a rash where it had been rubbing and I went to work as normal. I was only a young teen at the time and was too embarrassed to tell anyone or see a doctor, so I just hoped it would go away, which it did after about a week or so. It was intensely itchy and for that whole week I STUNK of fish. This wasn't a slight odour, I literally smelt like a rotting piece of salmon. If I walked out of a room or a car and then went back in it REEKED and driving in a car people would immediately say WOW what's that fishy smell?
I had no internet at that time, but today I can see that the rash I had was THRUSH. No white growth or spots just a seeping red rash.
I don't think it's only the fungus itself that creates the odour though, it's the entire flora of microorganisms going into a frenzy together, but no doubt it's the fungus that starts these things off and sustains it. So basically, I don't think fungal overgrowth itself smells of much, but when a part of the body tissue gets compromised by it then other microorganisms join in and then it can really start to smell.

@Stillhoping- You are right, I guess I was referring to my kind of bb but it could be in the cases of others.
@Sadmum-Have no idea, was hoping someone with alittle bit more knowledge of this would come forward and explain it a bit better.
@Halitosisux- You're right I definitely believe I had systematic candida which may have caused in imbalance which would allow bacteria to overpopulate.
