I agree with the change in hormones, or some mutation of cels, cause many of us start to notice the problem at puberty....

sadly no doctor seems to take note of this

I suspect that I either have small intestinal bacterial overgrowth(SIBO) or secondary TMAU or both. My immune system also fails in controlling these odor-causing bacterias as far as I can remember. My dentist told me once that my gums keep on having plagues surrounding my teeth even though she just cleaned it a week earlier. One doctor also agreed with me that the only way to control these bacterias is to strengthen my immune system. He suggested that I take steroids but I declined coz of the side effects. Therefore, I`m trying my luck out with natural anti-bacterial & immune boosting supplements along with a low protein, low sugar & low choline diet. I also take vit B2 coz people with TMAU use it to prolong the FMO3 enzyme half-life. I`ve been doing this for 4 months now & I could say that my bb`s 30% better now.

Do you know what kind of steroids he suggested..?

The immune system may very well be involved ... apart from bb I do get some pretty weird allergic reactions...

I take vitamin B2 but I also plan to take all the other B vitamins coz I`ve read that they aid the immune system & the body`s metabolism as well. Yeah, it`s a drag having a body that seems like a suitable haven for odor causing germs. I also have great hygiene so my teeth & gums are fine (thank goodness) but these bacterias really multiplies fast in my body.

I have a lot of allergies and seem to make peoples noses run for whatever reason.

I first heard about my bb during puberty but I do recall my brother referencing it before that and at first I was totally confused about his comment and why he would say it but now it all makes sense to me. Do you guys actually think it started at puberty or that that's just when we found out about it? Each case is different I suppose.

I'm really beginning to think I have bad acid reflux because I feel...something...in the middle of my breastbone. It could simply just be my asthma and allergies however acid reflux, ashtma and allergies go hand-in-hand. I just need to figure out my pH to determine if I'm produing too much or too little stomach acid. I get indigestion quite frequently and my teeth are eroding despite excellent oral hygiene. I also get canker sores if I drink citrus like drinks.

I have some very strange skin or circulation condition. I have no idea what it is. I've done so much research and can't find it anywhere. All I know is that the pigment of my skin will become lighter in small random splotches during only specific scenarios such as changes in temperature. Only then does it become somewhat noticeable. If I press against my skin, as it to do alter circulation or constriction of blood vessels, if will go away temorarily.

Anyway, I don't even know if I should be on this forum anymore since I'm basically the only one here that causes peoples noses to run.

^^ don't put too much faith in pH tests. They tend to have conflicting results. I've been tested for reflux... 1st doc says I have it, 2nd doctor says I'm fine (after internal ph monitoring), 3rd doctor says I have Hiatus hernia, pH strips always give same reading -normal pH. I think I do have acid. I can feel it, and the back of my front teeth are discolored. The dentist cleans off the erosion, but it comes back after a few months. I think the acid has probably already deteriorated areas of my throat/tonsils and that maybe why they're always irritated. If the acid can stain your teeth, who knows what it has already done to your internals/digestive system?

Hey Elliot,

Thank for the advice. I just saw my general physician today who is a close family friend and he's pretty awesome about actually administering tests rather than just dismissing any requests and diagnosing you by symptoms alone. I mentioned my symptoms (minus the bb - sadly too embarassed) and he's sending me to GI specialist to get an h. pylori test and to get scoped (no pH test...I guess it's pointless anyhow). He also gave me 20 days worth of Aciphex.

It's interesting that you too have dental erosion. I don't know about you, but I rarely drink soda or citrus drinks and I never drink coffee. Sometimes I feel is a slight tingling/pain in my teeth, with no obvious relation to anything.

My dentists assumed I was a grinder, but an acidic oral enviroment could play a role, especially when my teeth will become very sensitive at a seemingly random moment (like not upon waking - which grinding could be to blame for).

I also experience:
- Pain/feeling of something in middle of abdomen, which occurs most frequently at night
- occasional morning sore throat
- slight sore throat after brushing (very bizarre)
- frequent coughing (usually accompanied by chest pain)
- difficulty breathing/minor asthma (no wheezing)

Heartburn is rare, but I had several bouts last fall.

Do you experience any of the same?
