Stomach or small intestine?

Post by Kaybay »

Where do you guys think chronic halitosis bacteria reside in? The small intestine colon or stomach? Where do you guys think it's coming from?

Can be all of them, it depends by what cause it and your personal medical history.
By the way I think the more common are stomach related.

Do you have any particular symptoms?

Most common pathology that cause halitosis from the digestive system are: acid reflux, helicobacter pylori, SIBO, food intolerances (glucose and diary are the most common).
For the last three you can start by doing breath tests, for acid reflux you usually know if you have it but if it's silent can be diagnosed by a specialist.

I also suggest a dysbiosis test and try taking specific probiotics (consult your ENT with the results) if found any bacteria imbalance.
Don't start taking random/generic probiotics it's useless in 99% of the cases.

If all this came back negative chances are that it's not related to your digestive system but you can dig more by doing a gastroscopy with biopsy and, why not, a colonoscopy. But you need to do it followed by a doctor that can exclude any type of pathology.

I think my bad breath is from the stomach via hiatal hernia.
