So I have been doing my routine using saline-xylitol-lactoferrin intranasal and oral spray with the occasional antibiotic thrown in and it has controlled my fecal breath considerably. I still often have that sweaty, cheesy, foot odor type of breath though. This smell is most likely due to isovaleric...

My tongue was still pink 2 weeks after stopping the amoxycillin treatment but then felt my bb coming back, mainly through perceived reactions. I have put myself under intranasal bactroban and that had a great anti-inflammatory effect on my chronic rhinitis, better than steroids or whatever the ENT p...

There is a good chance that it will come back when I stop, but I'm just happy that something works after local delivery of antibiotic! I will continue treatment for a couple of weeks and see. If it does come back I will go see an ENT to see if they can identify the infection.

Update: I had stopped all treatment for a week and a few days ago I could feel my bb coming back. Did not want to go through the pain of nasal amoxycillin so searched and found something that can be used repeatdedly without side effects. It is called bactroban ointment which is used for skin infecti...

@DanielPine: same with me, we had a Dachshund with horrible breath/coated tongue when I was 11 which is when my bb started. I was the only one in the family to get it, but clearly some of us are more susceptible to some types of microorganisms. I believe the source of bb is in sinus/nasal passage fo...

Good question. May be a change of bacterial population in sinus-nasal passages? Still scratching my head, but if it comes back at least I know what to tackle, which is great news no matter what.

I've had the same problem for decades and strongly believe it is sinus-related. I've posted it before but will repeat, the only thing abnormal was chronic rhinitis and clear post nasal drip, not really a bad smell but very clingy. I started the xylitol:lactoferin:saline rinse, improvement but not th...

Update: some strange thing happening and I am trying to figure out the reason(s). For the past 3 days my tongue has been sensitive but absolutely pink, I mean all the way to the back of it and no trace of bb. I did use the xylitol/lactoferin/saline/amoxycillin spray heavily on my flight to europe la...

I combined with amoxycillin (250 mg in 6oz) 11 days ago. I did it for 2 days a developed sinusitis so stopped the nasal rinse for the past 9 days. There was good result That lasted a few days so definitely sinus PND related I would say. I had to fly so switch to oral spray with same mix and works we...
