I agree with halitosux, PND is a major culprit in my opinion. I don't think all mucus is created equal with regard to levels of protein content and stickiness. What we have to fight is both inflammation and bacteria. I am going to Europe for a couple of weeks and will try to get some Bioparox which ...

It's a good idea to search for possible anosmia with anything that you plan on shooting up your nose. Regarding amoxicillin, there have been some reports of anosmia after oral intake, but nothing clearly established like Zicam. I took amoxicillin as spray over 2 days and got sinusitis and partial los...

@joeP I have had chronic rhinitis (the clear stuff) and bb for decades, tried allergy shots, anti-histamnine, steroid sprays, nothing worked. I very rarely have sinusitis, i.e., green discharge, last time was years ago. I would recommend that you try the amoxicillin wash, at least to figure out if w...

Follow up: I don't think that I have a sinus infection. I had some green snort yesterday evening but it's clear now. Perhaps some reaction to amoxicillin or a die-off effect? In any case, I confirm the amazing effect of amoxicillin over a very short period of time, 24 h. I am very happy to have foun...

@ruch I have been using 250 mg lactoferrin and 4 teaspoons in 6oz saline for the past week. I do a rinse once in the morning an take some of the mix fresh daily as a spray that I use about 4 times during the day. Signifcant improvements but still felt that things could be better, so I added 250 mg a...

@ joeP, Thus far I am feeling a definite improvement, for example, less bitter taste, cleaner feeling in my mouth/sinuses when I come out of the house into fresh air (a test for me), can’t smell my own breath most of the time, which I could definitely do before (most of the time!). It appears that t...

@ruch, I have been trying the lactoferrin-xylitole sinus wash once in the morning together with nasal spray during the day for a couple of days and feel that there are results. For example, the taste of chewing gum is really fresh in my mouth at the end of the morning, I don't feel that there is som...

Follow up on the lactoferrin+xylitol routine: Started with sinus rinse using 250 mg lactoferrin and 2 table spoons xylitol in 1 cup and felt improvement. Did feel bad taste coming back during day at some point. Did some research on pubmed and found xylitol is used in clinical trials for biofilm as a...

I took metro orally for 2 weeks. It completely removed smell from feces but had minimum impact on bb. I also took it directly in mouth and had some effect but definitely did not eradicate bb. I think an amoxillin nasal wash would work better and will target more relevant bacteria, but have not tried...

@JoeP, At my worst it's fecal breath in the morning and my best 1-2 hrs of ok breath if I brush tongue do nasal rinse and..chew gum. So pretty bad. But still have great family and am top dog at work so psychologically can control it...most of the time. I have had bb for decades since I was 11, no do...

JoeP, I have similar symptoms. I have tried probiotics and it made things worse, so I would stay away from that and milk products. Saline nasal rinse helps, adding alkalol seems to sooth inflamed sinuses, currently experimenting with lemongrass oil in saline. I do think the problem is PND even if cl...
