Re: our site is 20 years old

I think people mostly use Reddit now, which is a shame

Re: Backyard Oral Microbiota Transplant

Clearly it’s not easy, because only 1 person replied from the hundreds that are on this forum! I can’t pay anyone to travel, i’m not rich lol.

On reddit, I had 7 volunteers who can travel and bring a donor. So we have enough now at least to begin

Re: A potential cure (Oral Microbiota Transplant)

Great, would you travel to Seattle and do you have a donor? Or would you ask your local periodontist if they’d perform the procedure?

Re: A potential cure (Oral Microbiota Transplant)

Reviving this thread. I have been pestering the scientist for almost 10 years now and he is applying to the IRB to revive the research and continue with trials. I strongly believe that the issue for many of us is an imbalance in our microbiome and have suspected for a long time that a transplant fro...

Re: Backyard Oral Microbiota Transplant

Reviving this thread. A scientist with at The University of Washington, Seattle, who I’ve been in contact with for nearly 10 years has been working on oral microbiome transplants during that time. He said to me recently when I asked for an update that the research is becoming promising but that one ...

Re: This is what’s been working for me

Hi Anne,

I haven’t been retested for SIBO, it’s quite expensive in the UK as it wasn’t covered on the NHS and the testing takes several hours.

My signature is outdated, I’m almost 30 now. That just shows how long I’ve been coming in here, and how long I’ve been suffering from this problem

Re: This is what’s been working for me

5 year update. The dilute sodium hypochlorite rinse effectively managed my BB until a couple of months ago. Over 5 years in total. I guess the bacteria in my mouth finally became resistant to it. I am grateful that I had the chance to live a somewhat normal life for a period of time, as I know many ...

Re: This is what’s been working for me

I’ve been scared to post this because I don’t want to jinx things, but I’d feel awful if I didn’t at least help someone. This is NOT a cure, it is merely a method of managing my BB enough to lead a semi normal life. I learnt about the chlorine bleach rinse over a year ago through this forum, and it...

Re: This is what’s been working for me

Hi Ricky, No I don’t drink coffee, I avoid sugar and dairy as I believe these are unhealthy anyway and they seem to contribute to BB. I use the neilmed sachets, I believe they contain salt and bicarbonate of soda. This is purely to stop it burning (its balanced to the salinity of your nasal passages)

Re: This is what’s been working for me

Hi Mariyan, Thanks for your reply, but with all due respect I have been suffering for years. I have tried all of the diets, all of the probiotics, all of the antibiotics. This is simply a management method which is working for me, and I will continue to use it as long as it gives me relief. I’m glad...

Re: This is what’s been working for me

Awesome, good luck! Don’t forget to floss, that’s really important.

And when you rinse your sinuses ensure you *snort* it down your throat and spit it out a few times to make sure no old mucus or bacteria are stuck up the top of your throat.

Re: Backyard Oral Microbiota Transplant

If I were to do this I would use a chlorine bleach rinse beforehand. Think about it this way - you want to give the new bacteria as much of a chance to survive as possible. Simply brushing your teeth does not get rid of the bad breath so, logically, it won’t get rid of the bacteria. I think you need...

Re: This is what’s been working for me

I know you said you are doing something similar to what I suggested, but have you followed the exact steps I listed? I really think it could make a difference, and I find it is only effective if I follow all of the steps and that the effectiveness increases over time. It took a week for me to be abl...
