My story so far

Post by halitsing18 »

Hi,

I joined this forum recently and is giving me some hope. I started getting BB since 2004. I moved to US from ASIA in 2003, so not sure it was a coincidence or has to do with my shifting. I go to dentist very 6 months right from 2004. Earlier when hygenist used to clean up my BB used to be fine for 2 weeks or so, but that 2 weeks became 1 week and even less till i hit 2020. Till that time my BB was coming from mouth, so until and unless i talk things were not bad. Starting 2020 i started nasal BB suggesting my presence would fill BB smell. I have done these things starting 2020

1)Endoscopy- found Hpylori, got treated.
2)Removed my tonsils.
3) breathcure .com/- Dr Dailley- $1500 + SCAMMM ALERT
4) beathalitosis .com/bad-breath-solutions/total-cure-procedure/(tongue rejuvenation)- cost $15000 SCAME ALERT!!!!
5)Bristle test
6)Viome test

After doing all this there was very minor to no improvement. I have gone to multiple ENT and GI Docs. Manytimes when i go to these docs they say they donot smell anything. My family does not smell anything. My friends have told me few times and also when i am close to people I can see them coughing, moving away. Yesterday I was going in car with my friends and for the first time I can smell MYSELF weird smell in the car. I am just running out of idea. My ask is
1)I have read that GI map using Genova diagnostics can help in this forum. is that something people have tried successfully?
2)is there a way i can stop paying the tongue rejuvenation(National Breath Center) since i took loan and still have to pay around 9K.They are cheats and so is Dr Dailley.

I am saying they did not help me at all. I just had finished appt with my GI Doc. She is going to do a upper endoscopy to find anything that might be contributing( last time in 2020 i had H Pylori but got treated). My challenge is when i go to any doc (I went to at least 10 in 2024 since i had my out of pocket max) they donot smell anything. The doc said there can be reflux due to my anxiety when i am meeting other people and that may result in e BB. She will put some instrument for 48 hours. I will let you know as how it went. But she also told me to talk to therapist.

I am being selfishly trying to find my cure, so i am asking a question to all of you if you have same experience

I have been to at least 3 ENT (5-7 visits) and 3 GI(4-5 Visit) docs. None of them can smell by BB and that is anoying for me. But anytime I am with my friends or iin a car I can see people start coughing. My doc has told me there is a chance that when you are with your friend you have anxiety and that can cause acid reflux and BB.Has anyone experience the same (docs not smelling while others yes)

it is s tandard answer from doctors because they know nothing can be done....they do not want to depress you. Go to some clinic with halimeter and there you will get a test. So you will know if it is true or not

I’m sorry to hear that; your story sounds very similar to mine.

I moved to the U.S. from Canada in 2000, and my symptoms started around 2005. Like you, it began with bad breath (BB) and eventually progressed to nasal breath issues and PATM (People Allergic to Me).

As your doctor mentioned, anxiety can worsen the reactions, so staying calm has been crucial for me as well. At work, I use headphones to help distract myself and manage the reactions.

I’ve seen four GI doctors, three ENTs, and even had my wisdom teeth removed, but none of them could identify the root cause.

That said, what has helped me is avoiding sugar and ensuring I have at least one bowel movement a day.
