Thanks Archimonde,

I will continue taking acidophilus. Its too early to tell but I feel less bloated already. I think we might be onto something here if we continue taking acidophilus for a while. I really think our body has too much yeast.

Even for those with tonsil stones which I have yeast is a problem because tonsil stones are part fungus/yeast related. I have been doing some research on the bacteria in tonsil stones and found this out.

Well, while I wait for the tonsillectomy I have to do something to help myself in the process so I will continue to take the acidophilus.

2 capsules a day on empty stomach before breakfast (30 to 1 hour before).

Archimonde. Are you taking the yakult as well?

I havent taken the yakult because of the milk ingredients.

If anyone has taken the yakult as well let me know if there are any significant improvements.

I've started taking probiotics 3 times a day, and at triple the recommended dosage. (They've never really done much before when I've taken the recommened dosage). I've definately noticed a difference with my stomach, which is always bloated and I'm chronically constipated, as I've been going the loo a couple of times a day.

I've been taking my probiotics after meals, is it better to take them on an empty stomach?

I'm also taking colostrum, digestive enzymes, soluable fibre and I'm starting on an anti-candida diet today.

I'm hoping all of these things together will sort my stomach out and have a positive knock-on effect on my breath!!

Keep posting on how you're getting on with the probiotics and I'll do the same!! :)

Hi,Sammy.Hi,Guys.
My sour taste with probiotics is gone.
I belive there's a strong correlation between fungi(candida) sour taste and BB.
I excluded carbohydrates, wich are sugers from the diet, that also contributed to sour taste. It was like fuel for yeast.
This week I started eat carbs back bread and chocolate ginger cookies and bloating and sour taste is back again.Suger in fruits is Ok.
Probiotics and low- suger diet is good for maintainig healthy enviroment in the mouth.
Sammy,Guys do you have candida?

Hey Drastic
Im really confused whether the smell is actually better or not, i dont talk to many people so its so hard to tell by reactions. I usually only notice reactions when im in a full conversation with someone and they'r usually ambiguous ones any way. I just go by the taste and feel of my mouth and how it smells to me. soo inacurate but i cant do anything about it. my partner has told me my breath doesnt smell anymore but i cant trust this because his opinion changed right about the time i had a complete breakdown in front of him.... haha coincidence??

I felt really good after starting them so i changed my diet back to fast food and any crap i felt like. it hasnt got any worse so i guess probiotics are working. im going back to my old diet and hopefully ill see more improvments.

but this is definately the most effective thing ive tried so far.

Viva
im not sure if i have candida, im a bit skeptical of the whole thing. but i guess it totally makes sense. i have so many symptoms - but then almost anything is a symtom of candida. i wish i had the will power to do the diet.

Maybe you don't have candida just imbalance in digestive system and mucus membranes. You can go back on your usual diet, if it doesn't hurt you.Keep us updated. A little less suger doesn't hurt anyway.Better sweet fruit than candy.

Sorry for offtop,I psted link Let's meet up! Nobody replied yet.

Hi Sammy,

how long have you been on the probiotics? How many days?

I am only on acidophilus for 4 days but I feel good about my stomach not sure there are any differences in my breath yet. My boyfriend keeps touching his eyes then nose when I speak so I know my breath must be awful. He doesnt tell me but it is.

Are you taking the yakult? How many times a day? How many?

Also anyone else decided to take the yakult? Anyone else apart from Sammy?

I am scared to try the yakult because of the milk content and the sugar content but they have one that is less sugar called the lighter version of yakult I think blue cap. I will try that one should be same billion bacteria.

It must be about 2 weeks now since i started taking them. I have just increased to 2 pills a day (thats 50 billion bacteria) and 1 yakult. Im thinking i might increase the dose again as it hasnt progressively gotten better and better as i hoped it would. but i read somewhere that it had taken someone a few months to see the full effects so im going to have to be patient and perservere.
I think 'Ithurts' has started to take Yakult, it was talked about on another thread, you could ask there how they are getting along.
Im also thinking of adding digestive enzymes, colostrum and MSM to my intake.
Geeeez this gets expensive.but i feel really close to being free... its so frustrating.

Hi Sammy,

I ordered the yakult so will take it starting today. I know that the acidophilus has started to help my stomach because when I go to toilet my poop doesnt stink up the whole place. Dont know if you guys have the same problem but after my boyfriend poops it doesnt stink. I meant I can tolerate it. But when I use the toilet I cant even deal with my own Poop I have to cover my nose. Usually a person should be able to deal with his/her own poop after using the toilet but its the other way for me. This morning was the first time that I did not have stink poop when I used the toilet. I could breath and didnot need to cover my nose. WoW.

Sorry for being graphic. But this acidophilus is really helping my stomach. Anyone else with the same.

Hey everyone,

I've just been reading up on the different strains of probiotic and I found an article that suggests that its better to choose a probiotic supplement with just one strain of bacteria instead of many, as they will compete against each other. It also suggested that if your probiotic needs refrigeration, it's likely to have been too warm at some stage of it's transportation, and so most of the bacteria will have died in transit!!

I also watched the youtube link mentioned in a previous post and did some reading up on Lactobacillus Sporogenes (which the guy suggests is the best probiotic as it's unaffected by heat and is happy at room temperature), here's a link to one of the articles http://www.squidoo.com/lactobacillus-sporogenes. I've also found a site which sells them fairly cheaply (although it's only free shipping in the UK). I'm probably going to give this a go after the probiotics I'm using now have run out. :D

Hey Snobuni,

I read a an article which said the same thing.

I also read that some probiotic arent delivering what they promise on the package. Some scientist from a university in UK did a research to show that of some 39 probiotics only 13 were satisfactory.

I think they said multibiota came up top because it has a coating which causes the 10 million bacteria to survive the stomach acids. Also culturelle, yakult were ones that scientist claimed delivered what they promise on packaging.

Guess we just have to do more research into the probiotics. Also, the scientist said that if there are no changes in our body after 2 weeks then maybe we should get a stronger probiotic.

I am using one from holland and barrett that I bought in August.

I will tell you a funny story. Back inAugust I had a strange dream. I went to my bed and dream that one of my friend who I havent seen in a long time in my dream told me that to cure this problem I should take acidophilus. She didnt say which brand. It was sooo strange because Iwent to my bed OK that night not thinking about bad breath or anything. I couldnt get this dream out of my head and went to Holland and barrett and bought it. I used it for a few days got dizzy feeling then quit. I think now that maybe I should have paid more attention to this dream.

I am not saying that it is a cure. Infact I didnt want to say anything about the stupid dream because I didnt want people to laugh at me. It was just a weird dream. But who knows if this acidophilus will work. Only time will tell.

Hi Drastic,

That sounds like an interesting study, I ordered some culturelle that arrived today, so I'm going to try them on a double dosage and see how that goes. I wasn't aware that if nothing improves after 2 weeks you should try something else. I've been taking the Holland and Barrett own brand for ages without any effect. I switched to Quest a week or so ago with some improvement, but now I'm going to try the Culturelle for 2 weeks, if that doesn't help I'll try the L. sporogenes. They're so bloody expensive though, it's what all my spare cash goes on at the mo!! :-({|= Don't really care as long as it works to be honest!!

That stuff about your dream makes sense. Einstein used a technique when he wanted to find an answer to a question. He'd think about the question over and over before going to sleep in a chair holding a spoon loosely in his hand. As he dropped off the answer would come to him in a dream, he'd drop the spoon which would wake him up, then he'd carry on working!!! I've tried it with problems before and it does work sometimes, I've tried it to find the source of my bb in case my subconcious was trying to point out somewhere in my body where an infection was (sounds totally mad, I know!!!) I never got an answer!! Sounds like you could be onto something though!! \:D/

Hi Snobuni,

I would give it more than 2 weeks to see if it works. Some scientist say 2 weeks and some say give it atleast a month. The dream was interesting though.

But lets waitand see.

Sammy, you said you went back to eating junk food and your breath didn't go bad? I'd say that's a good sign that probiotics are working for you. What kind of bb did you have before taking probiotics, was it a shit breath like most of us here?

My diet atm is near perfect, 100% raw: fruit, veggies, eggs and fish. If that combined with probiotics doesn't cure me, nothing ever will.
