may be hereditary

Post by ncc »

well i think that some of the bb problem may be hereditary because my mom has it (not as bad as i do), and my two dtrs have a little case of it and frankly i am so sick of it! i do everything i am suppose to do, i eat right, floss daily, brush, visit the dentist regularly which they dont seem to have a clue waht it is, been to ear nose and throat dr's and noone can help me. i have used otc products and also have ordered many thing online and still no help. i recently had to quit my job making 30/hr because its in a call center and noone wanted to sit next to me and always made comments that they thought i didnt hear. I have very good oral hygiene and no known illnesses and basically pretty healthy. I am just so sick of this and these forums really dont offer help because i have tried it all. im so afraid for my children because i know it will affect their lives when they get older and i just dont want them to have to go through what im going through. my husband sleeps at the edge of the bed with his back turned and really only has conversations with me when he is not close. we dont kiss and we barely are intimate at all. i know what the problem is and we even talk about it but i cant do anything about it. im scared this will cause my divorce. it has already ruined my career and my social life. i dont really have friends and i try not to go around my family because of this problem. i dont like when people send messages like have you tried this or that because i have! this sucks and it makes my life miserable! i do sometimes think that death is the answer because it is just that serious. noone wants to have bb and people that dont, think that we can just brush and it will go away and they think we wake up saying lord please let my breath stink today! im tired of the sterotypes and i just wish that once and for all i could get rid of this and live my life as a normal person. im just venting because i know noone can help but it just SUCKS!!!!!!!!

ncc,

i can totally understand your frustration. I have been affected with this illness for the past 15 or so years. Life has been a nightmare, especially recently, since I have not been able to get rid of the problem I too have become quite depressed at times, to the point that I just want to give up and not care about anything. However, then I also think about other, even less fortunate people out there who would do anything to trade their problems for mine, any day. You have to remain positive and not lose hope.

That said, see if you can narrow down what the causes might be in your case. If you read some of the other posts on this website, you'll come across some in which people have said that controlling their diet has helped a lot, such as lowering their intake of carbs. You might have candida, in which case following such a diet might help. This is just one example.
Maybe you have GERD?

Try to follow a process of elimination. If adding or eliminating something does not help, cross it off the "list" and go to the next. Just remember that it will take time and effort.

In the meantime, you can try to do some things which will "mask" the problem temporarily, such as chewing sugar free gum, or chewing fennel seeds, cardamon, parsley, etc. Drink plenty of water, lower your intake of caffeine, especially coffee.

Keep posting and sharing your thoughts.

Best of luck.
