Tonsils and PND

hi,
I'm looking for a cause of my PND, the tung coating and this bad taste in my mouth. I think the PND is mucus from the Tonsils.

My question to you guys is: Can the tonsils produce a load of transparent, sticky mucus? I really mean a load, that is comparable to symtoms of PND?

I first thougt it came from the nasal area, but then I cleaned my tonsils with "Roeder" Set (check out this picture: http://www.natura-sanat.net/Therapien/a ... edern.html).
This is a sort of vacuum cleaner, that pulls out all the stones.

--> First of all, my one-sided really bad taste disappeared completely (I still have a constant bad taste, but different now). I had removed a lot of stones.
-->Right after the selftreament I produced transparent, sticky mucus, on and on. The mucus I know, e.g. from right after cleaning my tounge and teath.
--> I should add, that I also used a sort of waterpik and held it into my pharynx into the nasal area. Again a lot of mucus came out, that was the first time, I was almost reliefed from my symptoms (althoug the area was sore, until the mucus came again).

So what experiences do you have? Can tonsils produce this mucus?

A brief description of my symptoms:
> One sided PND or mucus, left side
> Often a bad taste, getting worse during the day
> Almost all the time a bad feeling of a "trashy" mouth
> I can often smell a neutral smell in the afternoon

It's all related to one side of my mouth.

Background:
My problems started with an inflammation of my tonsils in 2004, especially the left one. I never have an inflammation or any health problems related to the tonsils now. But I have a swollen lymph node on my left side, since the initial inflammation years ago. I furthermore suffer from stress-related constipations. So this could be a factor too.

P.S. I'm new to this forum, so sorry if I have not seen related articles, where I can post this. I'm not a native speaker, I still hope, you can understand this. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to this site. Thank you so much for showing that new instrument to get rid of tonsil stones! I have never seen such a device. Is there a site that shows the language in english because I dont understand what is being said?

I did read a thread by a woman, I believe it was on this site but I'm not 100 percent sure..and I read it a few years ago. It was a weird story where she had her tonsils removed like ten to fifteen years ago..and her bad breath went away with them. Then she was starting to grow new tonsils..crazy i know. She said as they were growing she could see or sense..that they were excreting that acrid tonsil smell liquid. So she believed that the ooze that us tonsil sufferers squeeze out actually is produced by the tonsils. Then she had them removed again and the bad breath went away.

As for my own tonsils..i can squeeze them and yellowish gunk comes out. Saliva does too. But i dont think enough comes out to cause PND. But everyone's body and conditions are different. I have not noticed mucus coming out of my tonsils. It seems more like bacteria, saliva mixed.

I personally think that one part of the contribution of the bacteria infested gunk is food particles that get trapped in there. I know for a fact it is the case in my mouth, because when I drink my spirulina green drink , and then have had some water to flush it away, wait a few hours, brush my teeth. Then squeeze my tonsils...I see bits of green. So i know for a fact my tonsil crypt is collecting food particles..yuck. But as for the tonsils contributing on their own to produce bacteria that adds to this gunky mixture..I am not sure. There is that one case I mentioned that would be good evidence pointing to that possibility.

Guys, ENT specialist may help you! If you feel mucus in your throat, it is coming from your sinuses, you may need the have Xrays scan of your head to see possible problems with sinuses. Your problem can be: phoetor ex ore, pharyngitis chronica or tonsillitis chronica or combinations of this. You must be examined by ENT ear, nose, throat specialist. The cure will be antibiotics, nasal sprays or tablets.

The device I mentioned is called "Roeder" set, named by a german doctor, decades or even century ago. It's more a alternative sort of thing, but I think ENTs can flush your tonsils with a sort of waterpik. Nevertheless to remove tonsilstones this roeder tool is very helpful. I guess you could even pretty much build it yourself. It is basically a sort of glas pipe with a bulb you put on one end. But be careful not putting too much pressure on the tonsils.

Yes, I was diagnosed to have a light sinusitis, CT scan was made. But that's not the reason. This mucus I develop comes from the tonsils, and I believe also from the adenoid tonsil.
The problem is, that my ENT refused to take a look thru in throat up in to the nose, but I will ask him to do so soon.

Has anyone ever lost their sense of smell?? For the last 6 months my sense of smell has come and gone... some days even down to zero. And that adds to my anxiety because I cannot gauge how bad my breath is that day!!! I'm going crazy. I have allergies and post nasal drip and am always clearing my throat. I don't want to lose my sense of smell for good!
