Cured after 15 years

I’ve always hoped to share my story if I ever found a cure, and here I am, nearly one year cured. I’m now 40 years old, and I struggled with BB for almost 15 years. Over the years, I tried countless mouthwashes and alternative treatments. At one point, Metronidazole seemed like the best option—it worked well the first time, and I was BB-free for a few weeks. But then the effect wore off, and each treatment was less effective until it stopped working.

My doctor told me there was no cure for this condition and advised me to learn to live with it. But the thought of living with BB, especially when it was strong enough to fill a room was unbearable. It destroyed my confidence and made me very withdrawn. At my lowest point, I lost hope and struggled to see any meaning in life with BB. However, I didn’t give up.

I decided to try another antibiotic called Ornidazole, as Metronidazole no longer helped. I took Ornidazole for about seven days, twice a day, with a 1.0g dose each time. After two or three days, I noticed a dramatic improvement—my BB was gone. To maintain the effect, I also started taking both probiotics and oral biotics to help restore my gut balance.

Now, a year later, I can’t say I’m 100% cured, but I’d estimate I’m around 80% better. I still need to use mouthwash to keep BB at bay; if I skip rinsing for two or three days, the BB returns, although in a milder form. I believe Ornidazole worked for me because my BB was caused by anaerobic bacteria on my tongue, and this antibiotic was effective against them. The probiotics likely helped restore balance to my gut.

I hope my story can help someone else on their journey to find a solution for BB.

Uh, I'm not sure about the brand. I bought it a few years ago while traveling in China. Mine is 0.25g. Probiotics are from NOW: Probiotic-10 25 Billion and OralBiotic.

It’s called Ornidazole Tablets IP 500 mg by Ornida. They’re red pills. I haven’t started it yet. I plan to start taking them tomorrow though.
