Hi ruch, ruch wrote:how we can access these types of zinc?
here are the ingredients in smart mouth rinse which i have at home (you have to mix equal amounts of the 2 solutions together just before using,
Solution 1 Ingredients: Purified Water, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Chlorite, Benzoic Acid.
Solution 2 Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Poloxamer 407, Propylene Glycol, Poloxamer 124, Zinc Chloride, Flavor, Sodium Benzoate, Benzoic Acid, Sodium Saccharin, Sodium Chloride, Benzyl Alcohol, D&C Yellow No. 10, FD&C Blue No. 1.
Several organic zinc salts, i.e. acetate, gluconate can be purchased on Amazon. These are also available as a tablet, zinc supplement found in grocery or drug stores in the vitamin section.
Cold-EEZE® lozenges contain zinc gluconate in a hard candy form.
The sodium chlorite in solution 1 of Smart Mouth appears to convert to chorine dioxide when mixed with solution 2 of Smart Mouth due to a decrease in pH. This is an antimicrobial oxidizing agent used to maintain sterility in municipal water systems, disinfecting food, etc., seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_chlorite. It appears that combining the beaching of chorine dioxide with the antimcrobial activity of zinc equips Smarth Mouth with, at lease, two modes of action.
