I don't think mucous is the actual absolute cause of smell either, but when you have an abundance of it and it's being mixed with stomach acid and undigested food that's sitting in the digestive tract, it's not something I want to agitate by increasing stomach activity.

Sometimes when I simply swallow, with nothing in my mouth I get a whiff of rotten food/ sewage odor. The same odor I get when I suddenly bend down and back up. For me, there is something in the chest/throat area that gives off an odor. It's something that you can definitely sense in your body. Hard to explain but you can even "feel" the smell at times too.

I also think that for some people, oral issues are the problem. A lot of confusion comes from the fact there may be 2-3 main types of CH. I really wonder how much these types are related, or if one leads to another, etc. or of they are completely different problems each leading to odor. For one thing, I do not have PND at all.
