Klif,

this is for you. I read this from a guy who got cured from taking out his wisdoms. His name is CURED>

Wisdom teeth, especially if they're impacted, can cause gum flaps to form around them, and these can trap tremendous amounts of bacteria, which give off all kinds of foul odors. This may result in a localized infection called pericoronitis, which may produce detectable symptoms or not (as in my case). To make matters worse, it may be absolutely impossible to reach the gum pockets and crevices around these teeth with even aggressive, thorough brushing and flossing (as in my case). Think about food debris being back there for years, never being able to be removed properly, and how that will eventually make your breath smell all the time. This was why no amount time, effort or money I spent on my oral and/or nasal hygiene was going to be of any use

Hope this answers your question.

klif,
dentists never mentioned the situation with my tooth either.
It was only by chance that i discovered there was a stink actually coming from there.
All it takes is one small areas inside the mouth, whether it's teeth or gums or not, where saliva cannot keep the levels of anaerobic bacterial activity under control, that bacteria will produce enough shit smelling chemicals to infest your mouth. The human nose is very good at sensing these odours for obvious reasons, and it doesnt take anything like the amounts we imagine it to for it to give a person BB. Just think of stink bombs in proportion, how such a tiny amount can cause the evacuation of entire buildings!
Even a deeper than normal groove in the centre of the tongue can create such a situation.
But of course, as long as shit smells of shit, people are always going to believe otherwise.

Thanks guys!

But hmmm i've seen yesterday how that flaps looks like... and this mine is kind of all way behind wisdom, it's not like on the side, left or right. It's more like piece of gum that is firm and standing over the wisdom, little bit on surface, upper side of tooth xD what's that

...and it's strange there's not smell around that :-s or maybe my nose can't detect it anymore.

interesting point you broght up.

But I believe wisdom teeth extractions can cure many on this site.

The questions to ask yourselves first are:and deebas can you please answer these questions and let me know.

1. are your wisdoms impacted in anyway? Like still stuck in the gum. Not grown out fully? Grown at an angle?

2. Do food get stuck in the gum around or behind your wisdom?

3. Do you have a gum flap behind the wisdom tooth? A piece of gum that extends over the wisdom tooth and can be lifted by you?

4. Do you get pain in the area of wisdom gum or tooth?

5. Do you get a smell from the wisdom tooth or gum area?

6. Is the gum around your wisdom loose? the gum doesnt fit closely around the tooth? There are pockets around the tooth?

Well if you answered yes to any of these questions then I strongly believe you could be cured by having your wisdoms out.

if you answered yes to all the questions then what the hell are waiting for. Yank them out. A cure is in there somehow.

DEEBAS? DID ANY OF THE ABOVE QUESTIONS APPLY TO YOU IF SO WHICH ONE? BEFORE YOUR WISDOM EXTRACTION?

All the best.

sorry its been a while since i had a chance to have a proper read of the forum... the BB is def getting worse.. but to answer your questions

1. Not technically impacted under the gum although they grew at a 45 degree angle and i often chewed into my cheeks because of this

2. Yes, food quite often got stuck in behind the WT and still does in the space where they were

3. NO dont think i ever experienced this

4. no pain

5. bacteria smell from flossing, also get this now from teeth where i had fillings.

6. I specifically asked the dentist to check this out and she said no, so gotta take her word for it i guess

Hope this helps

Hi Deebas,

Good to hear from you.

I wanted to ask you if you ever had x-rays done of your teeth and wisdom while at the dentist? Did he explain your x-rays to you? Like if you have pockets etc?

Deebas, you mention that you have:

1

Do you think its worth investigating the wisdom area in great detail like perhaps extraction? Just a question to see what steps you are planning to take now.

yeah i think i will get a second opinion cos this is driving me crazy...

I've sort of given up on finding a cure so i've stopped cutting out foods i liked such as coffee and snacks etc..

but i do still get blood when i floss in a certain are around the teeth where i had a couple of fillings (not near where widom teeth were) so this could possibly be a sign of some peridontal disease although as I mentioned - the past dentist assured me everything was fine..

she was a bit young though so I guess another opinion wouldnt hurt.

As for the x-ray - i had the standard 360o x-ray that they give you before any sort of wisdom teeth extraction and i did ask about pockets and she said looking at the teeth, that there were none...

Hi Deebas,

You mentioned:

Deebas, dont give. Stay positive. One day will be your day too.

I so agree with you about stop cutting out foods i like . I realised this a long time ago after trying all the diets and restrictions that nothing reduced my bad breath. So, now I eat what I want and feel much happier as a person.

but i do still get blood when i floss in a certain are around the teeth where i had a couple of fillings (not near where widom teeth were) so this could possibly be a sign of some peridontal disease although as I mentioned - the past dentist assured me everything was fine..
That sounds like it needs further investigating. Have you considered getting a deep cleaning or possibly visiting a periodontist/someone who specialises in bleeding gums? Its not normal to get blood when you floss so I think thats worth investigating further.

she was a bit young though so I guess another opinion wouldnt hurt.
My previous dentist was young too. Infact, when I told him about the blood coming from my lower wisdom teeth he shrugged it off and refused to treat me. I have since gotten a second dentist to look at the area and this new dentist admitted that I need to have the area checked out thoroughly and treated because the risk of infection spreading to my jaw bone if its not dealt with soon. So, my advice to you is never trust a dentist. They sometimes shrug off problems if they dont see something that needs filling or drilling.

Keep us updated with your efforts.

Sorry, do you mean you HAD fillings there and no longer have them?
