I ate chocolate today, but i won't give up.
I know i can do it. The only reason i ate it was because i was hungry and these old people i work for keep giving me cookies and chocolate everyday.
I don't wanna eat it if im not hungry.
I just bought sourdough bread and this should keep me from being hungry.
I also saw kamut pasta in the health food store. Is it oke to eat kamut pasta?
Anyway i'm gonna start al over again tomorrow

Yeah don't give up. You can go clean for a week and still have that bad day. I just had one, and the day before all I ate was brown rice and oatmeal. I want to say F it, it doesn't work, but I think I'll keep on keeping on.

supposedly, the longer you've had it, the long you have to go on the diet to get rid of it/see big results.

A lot of people say that brown rice makes their breath & bo worse that`s why I stay away from it. Could it be that the vitamin contents of brown rice have a lot of sulfur.

Wow!
Running out of options here!

Actually I can't say that brown rice is a problem yet. I eat it everyday, and had one very off day... and that day I was out all day, and hadn't drank any water. I think I also ate late the night before.

I'd try to cut it out for a couple of weeks, but I seriously don't know what to substitute it with as a general filling meal. Quinoa is good, but doesn't go down like a meal as rice does.

Drinking plain hot water instead of cold water 'seems' to do something positive... don't have my finger on it yet.

I also find it difficult to choose the right foods/diet especially because I don`t know the specific source of my bb.

Beef , cooked fish , vinegar, all types of spices, tomato, banana, oranges, apples makes my breath worse.
There are many other food that makes mine worse so I`m also running out of options LOL.

I use squash as a general filling meal. I`ve replaced white rice about a month ago.

I`m used to drinking cold water even in the morning & someone told me that it`s not good for my stomach. He suggested that I microwave the water in body temperature. I haven`t tried it yet but the guy seem pretty serious with his suggestion so you may have something there Elliot.

What are some other good complex carbs you guys like?

Yes, Quinoa is good, but you kind of get sick of it after a while.

Also, I never noticed any issues from brown rice.

Yea, and drinking warm water is so much better for BB. Get a tea kettle, microwaving stuff aint that good. Put lemon in the hot water and drink it all the time.

How's everyone doing on this diet?

I've decided to go back to dieting. Day 1 today, i had a salad, pears and pineapple. My breath is pretty bad atm with all the meat i've eaten recently. Oh how i will miss beef and lamb

Is there a consensus on wether brown rice is ok? i need something that's high in calories and doesn't worsen my breath, rice would be perfect as a staple. I can't eat too much fruit or i get nose farts, i badly need high-calorie foods to gain weight, any suggestion? Once my breath is better in a week or so, i will try grass fed meat as an experiment, today i found a healthfood store that carries bison and beef, the meat is 2 to 3 times more expensive tho.

Well, the kale thing is a no go. I just think that cruciferous vegetables have an inherent odor, even when eaten raw they break down into some strange gas. Try steaming any green leafy veg for a few minutes and sniff the kitchen. It's almost a familiar odour. Broccoli, cabbage, collards all have this effect.

Snap peas, squash, green peppers, celery seem to be ok.

Oatmeal works out, but may or may not temporarily increase your mucous. I actually think it cleans me out a bit.

I'm eating chicken, but I eat it for dinner only and have moved up my final eating time a few hours, so there is no change I'm laying down with it.

Overall, there is an unquestionable difference with all of this, with respect to the 'bad days from outta nowhere' phenomena. I've learned to not worry yet about the actual BB, but how my body feels, as the BB will probably be the last thing to leave. Step by step. Feel better, feel clean and healthy 1st, and don't let a bad reaction distract you. It does not mean that you aren't getting better.

Hey guys,

I would seriously like to give this diet a try. I have had bb for a long time and if it was in fact candida that would explain a lot of things. I developed autoimmune problems in my mid twenties and I was reading about some interesting theories that connect some autoimmune conditions with overgrowth of candida. Of course these are theories of naturopath doctors as traditional medical doctors claim to not know how my condition started and where it came from.

Years ago before I was diagnosed with lupus, a lady I used to work with suggested that maybe I had a candida problem after me telling her some of my other symptoms. She in fact was having some similar symptoms (minus the bad breath-as far as I could tell) and informed me that she was going to try a probiotic blend. She mentioned that she had fibromyalgia but I don't think she was making the connection at the time. It was something like threelac, but I can't remember the name of it. After a while she convinced me that maybe she was onto something so I ordered some of this stuff off the net. The first few days I felt like I was cured. I was having rashes, body aches, swelling in my feet and ankles, random hair loss, etc. Also I had a monstrous vaginal thing going on. These things went away and I was seriously rejoicing. However, about a week later I ended up in the hospital for heart complications and a diagnosis of SLE which is systemic lupus.

At the time, I thought well that obviously wasn't my problem. But after reading some testimonials of people who have tried threelac, I realize how my body could just be having a monstrous reaction to this new foreign substance. Now that I know that trying threelac or something similar will probably evoke a lupus flare, you can see why I'd want to try another route.

Sorry for the long post. I'm just really passionate about trying this out now. I know that doing simply the diet will take longer to see results, but it's worth a shot. So I've seen some lists of foods on the net but I guess I just want to know what people on here are doing and what you've had success with. Thanks in advance

i don't think we should copy the candida diet because there are things allowed on candida diet that give us bb such as meat. We'll have to come up with our own list, our own diet. Or maybe the candida diet is exactly what we need but they're wrong on meat and no one with candida should eat it. /shrug

I had 2 birthday party's this week and and ate everything i shouldn't been eating.
My aunt told me this morning that i was skinny and my cousin thinks i'm trying to lose weight. I´m 168 and my weight is 50 kilo with close and shoes on.
I've been having gas and bloated stomach sinds those party's. And my tongue is more hairy. This candida diet is driving me crazy.
I gotta start al over again ](*,) :x .
Tired of suffering :(

The smell, taste and after-taste of foods aren't relevant to our problem, we need to be concerned with how foods affect our gut flora. The 1st time i tried raw food, i'd eat salads full of cruciferous veggies every day and my breath was at its best ever. I'm 100% sure that the veggies you listed are perfectly fine.

My main concern right now is wether things like rice and tofu are ok or not. Today i had quinoa and tofu. The smart thing i should do is eat mostly just salads for a week so that my breath gets fresh enough to the point where i can notice the effect of 'bad' food. Then i could introduce other food like rice then tofu, etc, one by one for 3 days to see how each food affects my breath. Basicly what's called an elimination diet. I should've done that a long time ago, there's no other way to tackle the problem.

For me, these are the things I cut out of my diet:

Bread (all breads)
Anything made with yeast
Any type of Mushroom (this is public enemy number 1 for me)
Wheat flour and White flour (Rice flour is ok though)
Alcohol (I have not drunk alcohol in two years)
Sodas (including all the diet sodas)
Cheese
Noodles made from wheat flour

Things I do eat:

All meats (chicken, beef, pork, seafood, etc.)
All vegetables (except the ones I don't like of course)
All fruits (same principal as with vegetables)
Some dairy (including fermented milk, goat's milk, natural yogurt, eggs, and even ice cream from time to time)
Noodles (as long as they are egg noodles or rice noodles. Not noodles made from wheat flour)

That's pretty much it. Do I cheat sometimes? Yeah, sometimes I will have a dessert that is made from yeast or flour, such as cakes, cookies, or pies, or I will have a pizza once in a blue moon. But two things that I do not cheat on is mushrooms and alcohol. I will no longer put either one of those into my body.

For the most part, I think most Candida diets are WAY too strict. If I cut out everything from my diet that they recommend, I know for certain I wouldn't be able to follow the diet for a long time at all. It's just not convenient. :?
