I think how we deal with stress and how we are proned to stress has lot to do with our bad breath. Worrying about bad breath causes stress and seems like an involuntary signal or reaction for us to get away from people. Maybe bad breath is a sign for us to relax and to get away from stressful situations. Few days ago, I stayed up all night and was exhausted. My breath was terrible. I felt the exhaustion was causing this, my body telling me to go to sleep with funky breath being one of the signals to shut down.

Good to keep in mind however have you found out the real cause of the problem? Does stress increase your nasal drip, dry out your mouth, or what?

i don't think i am cured (since i have experienced being "cured" for a week and then the bb comes back) but i thought i would share that for some reason, my bb seems to be gone or at least greatly reduced for the past few days. this is all i have been doing:

1. brushing, tongue scraping, and flossing morning, night and after meals as usual

2. using rinses (chlorhexidine, closys) as usual.

3. taking lactoferrin as usual (3x a day). i really do think it helps to reduce my tongue coating.

4. been using some BLIS K12 oral probiotics again here and there (i have used this before and it worked for a short time, then stopped working after i stopped using it.. but i figure probiotics are always good for you, and the tiny bottle of chlorhexidine that comes with it seems to work pretty well since it's so strong?):

5. i found out i have dust mite allergies and finally put allergy safe bedding on my mattress, pillow cases and duvet cover (the dust mites can't get through). this has reduced my morning congestion and prob reduced the PND

6. i tried searching's method of using bismuth (pepto bismal chewable tablets). i have only tried it 3x over the past few nights (skipped a night here and there). i don't know if it the bismuth or something else but my tongue coating is completely gone (even more than with just lactoferrin alone)

7. i am on an elimination diet (google it) and have cut out a lot of things from my diet for the next few weeks - not for bb but just for health reasons. i doubt this has been having any effect, but maybe it has cut out some food intolerances and reducing PND?

i just had dinner about 2 hours ago and usually, my breath is bad shortly after eating. i haven't even brushed yet and i cannot really detect bb like i normally can (i just feel like i have regular people bb when they haven't brushed), though my mouth does feel a bit gross (since i am used to brushing after every meal).

will keep everyone posted if this continues. no idea what it is that is helping, but i welcome it, even if for a little while.
