feelitagain wrote:Hey Jess,

I currently do not have an insurance hence it will be all out of pocket. I will be contacting their office soon and find out everything I need to know.
Thanks for your reply feelitagain. I'll be following your posts to see your feedback from them.
And also, thank you very much to 9years and mindyb for all the updates; and I have to say I've contacted 9years and have spoken to him over the phone on two different occasions. He was very helpful and answered all my questions both times. I truly appreciate it 9years.
My plan is to go to California to see the same Dr that operated on 9years. Right now it's just a matter of planning because I don't have insurance.

Any news guys, I think some people are having surgery soon?

I have read that in doctors have started removing adenoids rather than regular tonsils. That usually they dont take our these tonsils out anymore if the child is sich with fevers.....

Had the op a few hours ago. Just sat in bed at the hospital still. pain is non existent, though i'm sure it will kick in, in the next few days. so far i've smelt a bloody/rotten smell in my nose which is to be expected. not gonna get my hopes up until 2 weeks have passed and the wound has healed.

But 2 tornwaldt cysts have been removed along with my adenoids. i've been advised to do neilmed sinus rinse twice a day for 2 weeks. i've not been prescribed any medicine which is strange but i have pain killers at home just in case.

Great news FedUp!

Just like 9Years, tornwaldt cysts have been found and removed. This is very encouraging and I am optimistic for your prognosis. If you and Mindy end up being cured ... I think we need to build a monument for 9Years =D> (and maybe Jimi too) ;)

Just curious, did you specifically ask your doctor to look for tornwaldt cysts?

when i saw the doctor i just explained that i suspect my adenoids were the cause. i didn't say anything about cysts. he just said he could see a tornwaldt cyst in my adenoid and another on the sinus wall.

so your adenoids were never removed? Just your regular tonsils?

I mean before this adenoid surgery

I guess the cysts are the culprint of this disease, oozing out pus full of bacteria and smell

and 9 years is gone, he passed the torch and now he is gone

Also got private message from somebody, that he is afraid to ask Mindy how she feels after the last time when she was so pissed.

Well Mindy, I hope people can ask you questions right?

That is at least what you can do when your life was saved from this nightmare..

But bad breath does that to you, you are not grateful when somebody helps you, you even treat him bad...... :-({|=

you never even expressed any kind of thank you to this site, very strange

no my adenoids were never touched, but previously a few years ago there was a tornwaldt cyst removed so that makes 3 in total. but i'm gonna wait a week or two before giving a definite answer, i can still sense a bad smell but i'm gonna go on record to say it must be normal, kinda of a bloody smell. time will tell. 9years did say he had a smell for a week before it went away so i'm not gonna be happy or sad for the time being. it'll be interesting to see if the drip dissapears or lessens. i've had about 6 cups of coffee, something i wouldn't usually dare to have one nvm 6 and i'd usually sense the smell after one cup at work. the true test will be at work this coming monday. i will keep posting in this thread or make my own with updates. and as for pain factor, it honestly feels like i haven't had anything done apart from being a bit wobbly from the anaesthesia. i wasnt even prescribed pain killers or anti-biotics. but i have some pain killers here if any pain kicks in.

so after the surgery did they keep you in hospital? for how long?

Also did they touch your turbines?

Were you able to drive home, or did somebody else needed to drive you home?
