I had my appointment at the Hospital a few weeks ago. They said my thing is minor and I should try regular treatment first, meaning nasal spray, reducing the swelling of the turbinates. Did not work at all, got even worse and I sometimes had a disgusting taste from the spray, as if something burned was in my mouth.
Next thing will be to check the ENT to have a look at my turbinates, if they got thinner. Then a CT scan again, since my one is too old. Man, I'm fighting this shit too long and I'm getting tired.
So I cannot tell you what to do MissPretty. You have to find out yourself. I only assume that my deviated septum is the real cause. But there will be no progress without surgery. I hope they are willing to give me this someday.

Hello, I was watching this site for a long time and I performed all the testing a couple of times and was on rounds of antibiotics last one -
Levaquin almost made me disabled and I took it in dose of 500mg
once a day together with docycilline 100mg twice a day. No result!
My CT scan result -
NASAL CAVITY :ComplexS-shaped deviationof the nasal septumis noted.
There is a septal spur on the left. Concha bullosa of the right middle turbinate is noted.
FRONTAL SINUSE: CLEAR.
ANTERIOR ETHMOIDS:Uremarkable.
OSTEOMEATAL COMPLEXES: LONG INFUNDIBULA AND uncinate
but open.
MAXILLARY SINUSES :clear.
POSTERIOR ETHMOIDS/APHENOID SINUSES ; no significant mucosal thickening.
MASTOID AIR CELLS;Clear
NASOPHARYNGEAL SOFT TISSUES; Unremarkable
IMPRESSION :COMPLEX deviation of the nasal septum with septal spur, otherwiseunremarkable study

That's very interesting. I have a deviated septum and I'm sure I've some issues with my turbinate(s). I would file my BB under this type two that you've mentioned. in the summer with sea air etc it gets much better. My mum has similar issues and I could recognise a similar mild odour every now and then.aydinmur wrote:Concha bullosa is a reason of Type 2 halitosis. These are some small pneumatized spaces in nasal concha. They are filled by serum. Anaerobic bacteria silently invade them. Generally they have no symptom (pain, pus, or congestion). For this reason neither radiologists specify them in their reports nor ENT specialists attempt to cure them.
This is most important difficulty in halitosis treatment world wide. I frequently see such pneumatize concha in many patients. When/if Ent specialist eliminates them, that people continue their life without or lesser halitosis.

I've always the feeling that I'm breathing at 60-70%.

The thing with the deviated septum and mucus can result from two things, from what I've heard:
1. deviated septum causes a blockage of the sinuses or passages that results in poor ventilation of the sinuses, then mucus is produced
2. if the air that flows in, hits the deviated septum and causes an air swirl that is not natural. this again causes a swelling of the nasal tissue and a poor ventilation, then mucus
The last thing sounds strange but seems to be proven. I heard it from my ENT and read it in a book about sinusitis from a harvard medical doc.
So a minor thing, like a slight deviated septum probably can cause heavy PND, I guess.
