Firstly, I own shares in Blis Technologies who makes the K12 and M18 probiotics so feel free to take what I say with as big a grain of salt as you wish!

Secondly, I don't have bad breath. Never have. What I did used to have or more correctly get, was four or five colds a year. I have been taking K12 for about five years now and haven't had a cold in that time. I am the 'wellest' person I know!! For the last couple of years I have been taking it every day and I love it. The product I take (Ear Nose and Throat Defense) is only about $7 US for 50 tablets so it doesn't cost much on an annual basis and if it saves me half a day off work a year it has easily paid for itself!

You could check out www.blisk12.com for more info on the probiotic if you like. You will see that it has multiple applications, not just bad breath, and most of the products currently available target things other than bad breath.

If you want to read some studies check out the following list. It is from 2008 but a Google will find more recent studies, especially on M18 (formerly called MIA)
http://blis.co.nz/userfiles/file/Misc/R ... ticles.pdf

Nestle are just finishing a three year clinical trial to determine the efficacy of including K12 in babies milk powder. Interesting aye?!!

Also Google Professor John Tagg. You will see thirty odd years of research about Strep salivarius. Only recently has K12 (and very recently M18) been commercialised.

One thing that may be news to many of you is that K12 (I don't know about M18) is an advanced probiotic. This means it actively targets competing bacteria and kills them by puncturing their cell wall (as I recall). This means they can set up house and grow it rather than just taking whatever space is free. This is important, as is the fact that S. salivarius is the dominant species in the oral cavity.

Sorry to read that in some cases this stuff doesn't work for your bad breath but I am curious if anybody has noticed any other benefits? Fewer colds. Blocked sinuses no longer an issue? Maybe you don't take it long enough to benefit in these ways? I'm not sure if you should (considering how infrequently you take it for BB) but I'm curious anyway.

Right, I shall now prepare myself for a barrage of replies attacking my 'hidden' agenda! ;)

The Mouth is Just a Victim not the Cause

Post by knighty »

Hi everyone, I do have bb too for over 13 years now. and from what i have read and experienced myself, I think I can confidently say these.

Wenever anyone has bb that has refused to go away, even after using at least one bb product out there, then they shoud know right away that the problem is not from the mouth.
This is as long as they have healthy looking teeth with no pains.

So please stop spending money on all those crap that tell you the problem is from the tongue or whatever in the mouth. Some crooks will call it all sorts of professional sounding names to deceive people who dont know better.

it was easy for me to believe all that because my tongue gets so white, and the breath, u all know what its like.

I most cases from what i have been reading on this site and elsewhere, the problem comes from the sinuses particularly the frontal sinus.

recently i got the longest bb "free period" in my 13 years of this affliction. I thought it was over but while i was waiting to be sure before celebrating, It returned after 7 days.

I got this break after 5days of antibiotics(Erythromycin 250mg) and nasal spray(fluticasone propionate) prescribed by my doctor.

I could tell it was from the sinuses because my post nasal drip stopped, I could fell how clear my nasal passage was. and the best part was the fresh breath. I didnt have to compulsorily brush after meals, as the taste of the meal would clear off by itself. my saliva flow rate was very good and wheeve i brushed my tongue it would remain pink instead of turning white after some time.

anyway the reason for this post is just to inform long time sufferers to stop thinking the problem is from the mouth, the mouth is just a victim of the main cause.

Sinusitis has always been a challenge for doctors around the world. I dont see why it has continued to be.
do a search on the internet on sinusitis and u will be overwhelmed. I have read of people who have different forms of sinusitis some cant breathe properly at night, some always have running nose different symptoms everywhere and most have been suffering from these for years just like some of us.
I can estimate that 90% of the people in this group have their bb coming from the sinuses.

If anyone suspects so then they should be looking for an ENT not a dentist as we would normally think.

i heard someone talk about doctors taking samples from the sinuses and testing to see what sort of evil bacteria resides there and then administer the right kind of antibiotic to attack it.

We should learn to tell our doctors what we think our problem might be. Good doctors will at least listen and not just prescribe antibiotics over and, over again each time one visits.

some of these doctors dont even go online and at least hear what people talk about some of these difficult problems in orther to help their prognosis.

I am gettin fed up with these mostly dumb doctors.

anyway just felt like writing about this please ignore any typos as i wont go over this post. too depress to want to

I wish everyone on this group success as one day not too far from now, they will be "free". free to be who they want at any time they want.

this is just unfair . . . .

bye everyone, i hope i have something infromative to post soon.

Wow, what nonsense!

BLIS K12 is a bacteria

The common cold is a Virus.

The two have nothing to do with each other!

And K12 will not puncture anything until it can colonize and synthesize lantibiotics

If you feel the need to assert intellectual superiority you really should try stating your thoughts in an articulate and grammatically correct manner. Otherwise you achieve the opposite. Well done.

The terms and conditions said nothing about there being a requirement to have bad breath to contribute to this site. I stated upfront my interest so there wasn't any suggestion I was trying to con anybody.

The information and questions I contributed are just that. Others, those more curious than you, may find it interesting.

I got nothing but positive things to say about Therabreth.

I WILL START OFF BY SAYING IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME.

However

I purchased the whole kit plus k12 probiotics. It came with mints, gum, tongue cleaner, mouthwash etc etc.. the whole thing cost about $159

I tried it for 25 days and realized it wasnt working ,called them up and they promised to return my money. I shipped about half of the contents that i had received because i was using it for 25 days and had used up alot of the products. I also forgot to include some stuff (still use the tongue cleaner) but they refunded me my whole $159..

Dont be mad at DR.Katz he is not the problem... he developed products that will kill normal poeple bad breat from foods such as garlic, cheese, onions..etc etc

Problem is that most of us have other problems that are causing the bb.

I my self recently went to the doctor and was diagnosed with acid reflux disease , its known to cause horrible bb.

You might also have problems with kidneys, stomach, liver, lungs and no amount of probiotics, toothbrush, or mouthwash will fix the problem.

I ordered a chewable probiotic from Swanson with BLIS K12 in it. I plan on giving it a fair trial. Nothing else is working so why not? It's actually cheaper per dose than Evora Plus.

I get some relief from the Evora Plus but now it seems to be less effective than at first. My bb germs seem to have adapted to it.

Thanks, BlissShareholder, Positive and Phil for the information.

To BlisShareholder

You make interesting points. BLIS K12 does work and is really effective for bad breath. It will kill bacteria causing BB in the oral cavity. Some of these people who are not getting cured may have other health problems, possibly not associated with bad breath bacteria. They need to seek medical advise.

I have taken K12 and has worked wonders for me. K12 is a friendly bacteria that will not fight cold or flu. However, it does help maintain and promote immune system which in turn helps you to avoid cold and flu. I don't get as many cold and flu any more. When I do, I tend to shake it off a lot sooner. My wife and kids noticed it too.

Sith, I already knew you could get hold of Blis K12 through mail order, but thanks for your reply anyway, but I was wondering why it isnt available in supermarkets etc where you can just walk in and walk out with it like you can apparently do in the USA, without having to pay extortionate mailing costs.

Maybe its because it isnt patented in the UK? It just seems odd when you read about what it claims to be able to do, yet our stores sell rows and rows of probiotic yoghurts, of which their unproven claims of beneficial effect are nothing but very clever marketing.
