laser treatment

I was really interested in the laser treatmnet so I researched over the internet for a dentist who provides that kind of service. Luckily I found one located not too far from where I live. I immediately emailed him and scheduled an appointment. I went to the office this morning and told him the exact reason why I wanted the laser treatment. He throughtly examined my mouth and guess what? He couldn't find anything wrong. I had healthy gums, teeth and no pockets in the gumline - by the way I had been told the same thing by a periodentist that I visited few months ago-. So according to him I don't need the laser treatment. He also suggested that the bb could be due to hormonal change but dindn't know how to help me with that. So if anybody has bb caused by periodental disease, laser treatment would probably help, if not I don't think it would.

wow Jess
Did he check your tonsils?
He might be right, that the tonsils are not the main cause of bb afterall.
I think I have one tooth that gives odour if I floss so it might be a pocket, because the tooth does not hurt and my dentist said to me that there is nothing to fix in my teeth.
I would definately check the laser option for the pockets but we do not have laser here where I am right now..

He checked the back of my mouth, my tongue and gum area and said that I don't need the laser treatment since I don't have any gum pockets where anaerobic bacteria would be hiding. As far as my tonsils, I had them removed over two years ago and he didn't say that I have any crypts where they used to be. So my guess is something inside my body must be trigering the bb. Whether it's hormonal-related, liver malfunction, or something else, I don't know. I just need to find out.
laser treatment?!

Dear Jess
Why do you think so simple? Why do you take the question so easy? The laser that is found in some dental clinics is emlpoyed by dentists for bleeching and not for tonsils laser treatment!
The laser for tonsils treatment is completely different and need someone with enough info about this kind of treatment. You should find any center that has done many cases for success. And this is Dr.Finkelestine who done such treatments.

Yes did your doc do the Finkelstein Test, where he puts a lĨatex glove and squezzes your tonsil area and then he smells it?
FInkelstein is saying that is the test that should be done.

He didn't do that test Jimi. And you might be right halitopen, after all I don't think he specialises in breath treatment so the laser treatment he offers might be different from the one for bad breath.

maybe he should call Finkelstein and he can tell him how to do the test
Or maybe you could stop by in New York at the place that Finkelstein recommends. That doctor knows the Finkelstein Test.
