i really didn't intend on giving the name of the tv show. i'm not trying to put anyone on blast about their issues. it's bad enough that the whole world had to watch her struggle on tv. i didn't want to make it worse by pin-pointing what show and what character.

can vee's comment below be deleted???

I'm sure she felt like killing her self

How freaking humiliating that must have been for her. How dare he embarrass her on TV like that? That asshole could have waited to after the cameras were off to offer her some gum/mints and tell her she has bb. I totally understand the pain she must have felt at that moment. What the f*ck do people want from us? Do they honestly think we want to have horrible, stinky, chronic halitosis?

People who have never personally experienced halitosis have no clue what it is - pure & simple. In a world where 99.99% of doctors and dentists have 0% understanding of chronic halitosis, you cannot really fault the ordinary person for being so ignorant.

In this case, maybe the girl just had a garlicky Caesar salad for dinner or some onions in her food while her date did not. That's a bad mistake on a date - if both have garlic/onions/curry = no problem. If only one does = problem!

Maybe she even had some onions on a burger the night before. For many ppl (not everyone), these odours will remain on the breath for days in spite of brushing, flossing and tongue cleaning.

I don't think she would have gotten beyond the initial screening process if she had CH but who knows. Some ppl can hide it very well .. as long as they keep their distance, don't breathe out while talking, etc...

tocute, I think you have to accept the fact that people are just generally uninformed and ignorant. We have all seen ads for mouthwash and toothpaste almost every day of our lives. I believe the general opinion is that anyone with bad breath is just too dumb to brush their teeth. If our doctors and dentists don't have a clue, how are ordinary people going to learn any different?

I have even seen some comments on here from experienced bb'ers who think that flossing 3x a week is ok. If you don't floss out the food between your teeth after you eat .. what is going to happen? It is going to sit there & decompose.

Mind you - how often do you see ads for dental floss or tongue cleaning?

Desperate for a cure.......

I guess you’re right, Gabriel. I just get upset about this topic and I take it personally because I know many people with bb are trying their best to get rid of the problem. It’s really frustrating for me when non bber’s think we have poor hygiene, and a toothbrush/paste, a stick of gum, or mint will cure bb. If it was that simple I would have been cure at 19; 8 years ago.

Off the topic...
I'm new to this site and I was wondering has anyone one here found the possible medical cause for their bb; for example: liver or kidney damage, upper respiratory infection, sinus bacteria/allergies, or etc...

For me, I recently found out that my liver have high levels of enzymes. My Physician is referring me to a specialist for further testing? And, I’m currently seeing an ENT for what we believe is chronic sinusitis. He sent me to the radiologist for a CT scan the other day to see if there’s an obstruction in my nasal passage, and I’m scheduled for the skin test on Friday for possible allergies. I also, went to the dentist to have my teeth and gums checked and cleaned; just to let my doctors know I do have excellent oral hygiene. I really hope we find the cause and cure for my bb soon before I go crazy.

Has anyone else had similar testing? If so, what was the outcome? And, what do you recommend;anything in particular I should ask the doctor to test for?

you are right. she probably doesn't have ch. i have a friend who i think is developing ch. i noticed over the holiday that at night her breath gets fecal smelling. she asked for gum once because she said she "wasn't going to make it." before that i had told her i only had a few pieces for the night and that we should try to save them till we get to the club. anyway, when she chewed the gum that fecal smell disappeared. it gave me hope in gum again! guess it works for some people and some bb cases :)

i don't know. she has an underarm bo, like i do, so i think that it's something genetic that's effecting what bacteria grows in our bodies. in a way i just don't care anymore. people love you for you and the one's who don't, don't matter.

I couldn't agree more. They think it's our own fault. It's like a crime. We don't brush our teeth according to them. I wonder how long it is going to take before things are going to change. Probably never. ](*,)

I really hope for all the future CH sufferers that they will be able to live in a society where people don't immediately associate bb with bad oral hygiene.

That is just to hard. I can't imagine the humiliation that she had to go through.

What was she thinking anyway? Why in the world did she force herself into that situation? I feel sorry for her...

:(

i thought we were going to let this thread go.

anyway. i've been watching the show every week and it's clear this was all for tv. she has been in people's faces and other's have gone out of their way to get in her face and yell at her. if someone has bb you hide from them every chance you get when it comes to conversion.

i don't think she had bb and if she did it was probably the common type that happens to folks at the end of the day.

I also felt bad for her. I don't think it was made up because various other cast members mentioned her BB in at least 3 different episodes. How humiliating.
