Cancer patient recovers after injection of immune cells
A cancer patient has made a full recovery after being injected with billions of his own immune cells in the first case of its kind, doctors have disclosed.
The 52-year-old, who was suffering from advanced skin cancer, was free from tumours within eight weeks of undergoing the procedure.
Doctors took cells from the man's own defence system that were found to attack the cancer cells best, cloned them and injected back into his body, in a process known as "immunotherapy". After two years he is still free from the disease which had spread to his lymph nodes and one of his lungs.

Cancers on the verge of being cured, but no hope for us!
I'm glad we're finding cures for cancer which is a hugely complex and disastrous issue, but can we at least get something for us?
All we seem to get is chlorine dioxide and triclosan toothpastes over and over again, year after year, study after study! Oh, and don't forget to BRUSH YOUR TEETH!
Where's the friggen research for us?!
I recall on Health Boards years back someone posted that there was a cure for halitosis found in the 80's (it was some kind of injectable), but it was silenced when it was found to be 100% effective on the participants. Anyone think a multi-billion dollar a year market for halitosis is going to allow a cure for us? I can understand a cure for cancer because treatments cost insurance companies & hospitals a lot of money. There's money in a cure or truly effective treatments. For halitosis, the money lies in us spending $200 a month on crap products for the rest of our lives.
