Febreeze Commercial

I don't know if anyone has seen it.
There is a lady on a plane, and she sitting next to this man who apparently has BB. He's sleep snoring with his mouth open, and everyone on the plane is bothered by his breath. Well this lady sticks an electrical outlet on the window and plugs in this Febreeze air freshener, and in a moment, the passengers are all relieved and smiling.
I'm sure the commercial is a blast for anyone who doesn't understand BB. It was pretty pathetic though, for me. It goes to show you general perception about BB. It's a joke. It isn't a serious problem. It's something that can be dealt with by chewing gum, tic tacs, or spraying some air freshener.
This is why there is no cure yet. The public doesn't see this as a problem. Again, it is seen as a joke. The commercial says it's ok to laugh at people with BB. We don't see any commercials making light of someone with HIV or Cancer, or any other disease (which I think it aptly is) As long as we are the butts of jokes, we won't be cured.
The general attitude on BB needs to change before people pay attention. People need to understand what this is, and how people are trying to deal everyday. How our entire existence is affected by this. The more people begin to realize this, the less humorous it will seem. People will rethink their old Uncle Joe, or coworker that has BB, and perhaps try to be more sensitive. It's all in the attitude. Even doctors don't take us seriously. They want to say something that sounds nice, and have us out the door asap so they can spray their Lysol.
Maybe this site should begin to focus more on on teaching what halitosis means. What is it, why do people have it, why can't it be cured. This site needs to reach the general public...people that don't have BB probably know someone who does. Knowledge is key. We deserve some respect already! It could help in the long run. Who knows? You might reach the right person who has a genuine cure, but never took this as a serious problem enough to consider it.
Spread the word on this site. Sharing homemade remedies is fine and all, but we are at a point where we've heard it all. It's getting redundant and losing effectiveness. Jimi, I hope you can think of a way to expand this site to reach more people. Even if it has to be artificial, you need to draw people here that originally wouldn't come. The goal has to be to make this a well-known disease.
JMHO of course.
