just wanna bring up some thoughts to share (fecal bb suffer)

Post by bpatient »

k, i hav been browsing this site for couple years now (yea, i know, my account status doesnt look like, but i m not like those 'newbie' you hav seen). anyhow, now i just wanna share some of my opinions about the root of chronic bad breath.

here is my personal history and experience:

gender: male

age: 27

years of suffering bb: probably since 10 yrs old when I remember receiving 1st comment about my fecal breath (maybe even younger), cant recall, but it definitely began before 11 yrs old.

smell: fecal, usually have comments that my breath smells like cat's feces ( most of the time i cant smell it, but in some condition, such as under extremely cold weather I m able to smell my own breath).

Magnitude of BB: 9 out of 10 (10 is the strongest), people can smell my breath 3 meters away.

health history: healthy, except the fact that I was diagnosed with infection of Hepatitis Viruses when I was 5 or 6 or 7. And I got healed after months from treatments. And when I was 12, I also had dental braces treatment, which 8 of my teeth were taken away, including 4 wisdom teeth for the top and the bottom (but I dun think having dental braces has anything to do with my breath, since I received bb comments b4). My test for pylori said I m not infected with that disease. Tonsillectomy is done but not help.

My own opinion about the root of bb (this is only my own opinions based on my conditions, by no mean to offend anyone's ideas/thoughts):

1) I dun think my chronic bb's root is from the mouth:
Bushing doesn't help, Flossing doesn't help, and Listerine Mouthwash (which is supposed to killed all/most bacteria) doesn't help, Tongue Scraping helps very very little.

2) Nasal odor is as strong as mouth breath (I dun have PND). Please correct me if I am wrong: some people mentioned here that if a person has nasal odor w/o PND, this person's chronic bb might not be originated from the mouth but might be deep down his throat, since nasal passage doesnt directly connect to the mouth.

3) Internal organs might be contributed to bb: w/ empty stomach, I have very strong bb (i notice very strong sense, but for me it's not smelly); when eat, strong sense reduces a little. My conclusion is that when our body is digesting/absorbing, functions of some organ might directly or indirectly help to reduce/interfere bb's condition. Unfortunately, I dun know what that organ is. But I am doubting about the Liver since I had heath history with it b4, and one time a doctor suggested me to do a blood-DNA test for the volume of Hepatitis Viruses which I didnt do.

4) personal experiences with other chronic suffers:
So far, I have met 3 other chronic bb suffers (not that they told me, but I can tell I have the same bb as theirs. The bad breath from bad oral hygiene is very different from chronic bb, i think.) , and these 3 ppl are all from my own town which RELATIVELY has high percentage of ppl getting infected with Hepatitis Viruses.

5) Factors worsen BB:
Gum, any types of soup, soft drink, caffeine products, sweeten products. My conclusion: saliva, not like that most people have, might not be able to break down some particles of food, which eventually help bad bacteria grows on my throat/tongue/mouth.

Conclusion: chronic fecal bb 24/7 non-stop, maybe bcuz of infected/damaging or abnormal organs in the body but not the mouth (again, it's my opinion based on my own conditions, by no means to disagree with others).

Your comments are appreciated, especially from those having chronic fecal bad breath (I wonder if you guys have health history about internal organs.).

hey thanks for posting. This information is useful. Have you ever tried a completely sugar free diet?

Hey there, Thanks for posting. Anyway, to help you
a little:

To quote you:
"Internal organs might be contributed to bb: w/ empty stomach, I have very strong bb (i notice very strong sense, but for me it's not smelly); when eat, strong sense reduces a little. "

"The bad breath from bad oral hygiene is very different from chronic bb, i think.)"

I would like to say that gingivitis most likely caused by bad breath. Anyway, so my problem was oral. Also, it was chronic too. So, I disagree with the statement that bad oral hygiene and chronic bb are different since bad oral hygiene can contribute to oral problems which cause gingivitis.

Also, I, too, recognized that when I didn't eat, my bb would go through the roof. But after having the gingivitis deep cleaning and removing this oral problem, If I do not eat, I tend to not have bb. This shows that you may not have organ problems.

Sincerely,
Green

"bpatient" I agree with you on the reason having somthing to do with the digestive system.

I don't know exactly if it is an organ malfunctioning or if maybe the Duodenum opening is weak and permiting gases to go up or what else but it must be from the digestive system.

Personally my fecal breath is reduce when my system is emptey, by that I mean after giving a visit to the toilet   . After I do that my fecal breath is reduced by a lot!!, and if I dont eat at all I can keep it low, although after 5 - 7 hours I start getting hunger BB combine with the reduced fecal bb, wich is bad, but still better than when there's food in my stomach or intestines. Maybe as I'm eating my breath is less but ceartenly 5 minutes after eating I can stink a room with septic tank smell in seconds.

hi ElGrizzle, thx for your reply.

Yes, I tried sugar-free diet when this idea was 1st introduced to this site 3 yrs ago. I stayed with it for almost one month, but no improvement at all, n in fact I felt like my fecal bb worsened during that time.

hi Green, thx for your reply, your infor is helpful.

But I dun think i have gingivitis. As I said, I had dental braces treatment for 2 years, I met with my dentist on a regular basis, but she never said anything about gingivitis. Also, I dun hav any symptoms of gingivitis, except fecal bb.

Also if a person has fecal bb caused by gingivitis, how does the bb come out from nasal passage? do you hav nasal odor b4?

And I wonder if you successfully managed (and/or NOT CURED) your bb after removing gingivitis problem? what does your bb smell like?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi me new account, thx for your reply, but i just want to clarify my idea that is I tend to agree with the idea that chronic fecal bb is rooted from internal organs, including lung, liver, and of course digestive system (but not only limited to digestive system.)

the idea about "Duodenum opening", I think I read it b4 on this forum, n I think there's a high possibility. After all, if there's certain organ failuring/damaging, how come chronic fecal bb is the only 'apparent' symptom? unfortunately, organ malfunction is not fixable.

Haha, I feel relief after I take a dump~ lol~ maybe it's just a feeling, n maybe it's true that fecal breath is reduced after taking dump. tho I dun know about the difference b/w hunger bb and fecal bb.

It looks like you and me share some similarities of fecal bb experience. I wonder if you hav any special health history b4? and do you have strong nasal as well?

Right, I agree (except for the lungs being the reason). I didn't express my self well. Not only the digestive system but also other internal organs could be the cause.

I also agree. This is not my only theory. I have different mixed theories in my head how ever they all relate to digestive system faliure or organs faliure, or deformed such as that of the Duodenum opening being weak. Or maybe is a combination of all of them, although I doubt so many thing are not working properly at the same time. Still non of my theories include bacteria being the reason. I used to think it was a possible reason, but not anymore. At least not for fecal breath.

Yes, the smell comes out of the nose for me as well, so I'm screwed anyway even if I close my mouth.

Now that you ask I never actually mention it here because I don't really think its related but when I was a little kid I used to suffer of asthma. Not anymore though,It magically stopped suffering long before I started suffering of BB. I used to take a "lot" of crap for it when I was a little kid but I dont really think its related.

I shall be glad to answer your questions, bpatient.

I have nasal odor like you. But I can say that my bb is gone; I can speak to people w/out the nose scratching and all of that classic "you got bb" signs. I am almost positive I have no chronic bb now. Anyway, I had nasal odour with bb and even now, without bb I still have terrible nasal odor.

Frankly, I am not positive on what causes my nasal odor. I have been told my the doctor it may be allergic rhinitis. Look it up on google, maybe you have it? Anyway, I've been prescribed a prescription nasal steroid spray (Nasonex). The doctor told me to use it for about a month and if I still experience nasal odor, I should return to the hospital. I do not know if your nasal odor is caused by some problem such as allergic rhinitis or a sinus infection or whatnot. Your problem could be caused from an oral problem if you have any oral problem that is, because another member on the forums, his name was Cured, experienced relief from Nasal odor once he removed his infected wisdom teeth. Hopefully, this helps you.

Sincerely, Green

P.S. My nasal odour was also more terrible than my bb like yours.

Hi bepatient,

I have the same bb problems as u, and after reading everyone's posts in this site I have been able to control my bb. I agree with u on bb relating to digestive system, because when I take care of my digestive system my bb reduces. I work in retail, and I am always talking to customers so I know exactly when I have bb and when I dont. my bb was so bad that I just could never control it, i had it 24/7.

In digestive area there are a few things that I have been doing a research on lately.

 bile reflux (in ur case I think it could be bile reflux),
 intestinal obstruction (which causes constipation and the body keeps absorbing that piece of **** stuck in intestines)
 Acid reflux

and lol yes it is true that my bb reduces after giving a visit to the toilet. 8-[
