I have often thought about that but I am afraid if the therapy proves successful I may stop searching for the cure...

If you never did halimeter test, never asked someone you could trust whether you had bb, chances are it's all really in your head. Why would he lie to you? Did you see his reactions?

well a lot of people rub their noses. the most recent signs that ive received lately are when im breathing normally for instance and then a friend sits where i was breathing (somewhat unexpectedly) and then rubs her nose,at times people coughing when crossing my path, rubbing/touching of noses while talking to me, people seeming hesitant/awkward to talk to me. the worst reaction ive received lately was when i was walking through a door a week or so ago and this guy who works in my building was coming through in the opposite direction and i mouthed/whispered "hey" to him and he took this small piece of paper he had in his hand and brought it to his face and walked past, then coughing. i felt like punching this guy in his face when he did it. then i see him again standing around talking to someone later in the day, so i walk in his direction and he brings his hand to his face while talking to someone else as to like prepare for me walking by. i swear i would love to hit this guy a few times. another time is sitting in a car with this girl im pretty attracted to and she asks me for gum (other people do too at times)... i mean i dont think these people just ask anyone for gum, though i know sometimes its purely coincidental..

it is not as bad as it used to be, being that i dont get as many "reactions" (whether they be real or mental) as i used to, but yeah i still do as stated above.

if i wanted to be an optomist and brush off all the minor signs, the one that seemed "clear" to me was the co-worker one...

and yes i have tried the halimeter test, dont remember the results, but they werent very bad. im not sure i was doing it properly or if the machine measures my bb properly (apparently it measures sulfur or something, but what if the odor comes from something else?).

in a case like this, id love to be able to meet up with someone and get a better gauge. and im surprised more people on this site dont feel the same way

NYConfused, then you should make a measurement with a halimeter. In New York, there are many facilities which have that device.

If you are in doubt about the results of the halimeter or want to re-measure your breath, why don't you consider trying it again? It may not be able measure all kinds of bad smells, but it will measure most of them, probably at least 90%. And if it shows nothing bad then you should not be worried about "reactions", unless they are really vivid. If there's a guy whom you dislike for something that you perceive as making fun of you, maybe it's worth asking him straight what it is that concerns him in you.
