Few days ago i made a thread about that i was cured after the dentist cleaned my teeth and after brushing and flossing everyday.

I went to my sister this morning and asked her how my breath smells and that i want her to be honest. i exhaled in her nose and she said that i smelled like onion (i ate onion today), but that it aint that bad.

And now it makes sense to me, i don't know about bad breath, but i don't think we have nasal odor...our skin (especially face) just smells bad...that explains why a guy at work said to me: Man, do u smell that fried oily smell? And i thought: "Yep my nasal odor does his job properly".

My mother told me all the time that i smelled bad and that it was coming from my skin and all this time i thought it was my nasal odour.

For years ive been trying to figure out what this is. I shower everyday, brush my teeth twice day sometimes more, but within half an hour of me washing, i have this shiny film on my face, mainly on my forehead, creases of my nose, chin and ears and it smells awful, i put it down to the fact that i have gum disease and that im swallowing bacteria all the time which is laying on my skin, and when i sweat it causes me to smell. After reading of one of the links you posted, im thrilled about trying some milk thistle, ill try absolutely anything. My problems started about 12 years ago just after id had open heart surgery, i was told all the drugs i had for that caused my gum problems, my teeth are falling out one by one, ive lost three altogether. This is such an awful thing to live with, i cant hug my children like i want to because i dont like people getting to close to me, it breaks my heart. I lost a very long term partner because of it, id love to go to work, but im afraid of what people will say. I try and avoid contact with anyone as much as possible, i secluded myself from all my friends, the only place im happy at is behind my computer where people cant smell me. Im really really hoping this milk thistle gives me me break ive been looking for as im too embarrassed to talk to the doctor about it. I keep pestering my dentist to take the rest of my teeth out, in the hope i wont smell anymore. Id love nothing more than to smell lovely again and hug my kids without worrying xx

Hi sham,
I've seen this mentioned a few times by BB sufferers on here. Odour on the exterior of the nostrils. Such a pungent odour so near to the nostrils could make it feel as though bad odours are being exhaled and lingering etc. For example if you put some strong scent like scented lip-balm in a similar position it can feel quite deceiving, as though the odour is all around the person or that odours are lingering around them.

Also, in a related subject, ive noticed that since i dealt with the source of my BB my skin smells a lot cleaner, with the warmer temperature. Normally my skin would have a shitty smell to it, especially when im hot, and im not getting that at all now. I think swallowing all the foul chemicals produced inside my mouth was being absorbed back into my system and being released thru my skin.

Wow, I have the same issue guys. Sometimes, I can tell that something on my face smells. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it's what Halitosisux said.

Any other people with the same situation?

My skin is very oily also. If i touch my nose/nostrils and the space that leads onto the front of my face (hmmm does that make sense? lol), anyhow this always smells really bad.
I haven't read the links that thissucks has posted but i will do.
I dont know if it has any links to my breath issues though as i get post nasal drip which is what i blame.
