Olive oil , salt and water mouthwash

I happened to be reading about Olive oil on a website the other day and the particular article I read mentioned that a mixture of Olive oil,salt and water was considered a cure or at least a treatment for halitosis. It was a treatment given in the Talmud which as far as I could tell is an ancient Jewish text of health laws and such, . Anyway it maybe something worth a try.
