I have been suffering with this problem for 21 years and I'm in my mid-forties. I have browsed this website for several years now, but never registered. I tried Oxyfresh, andTherabreath and it didn't work either. In fact it changed my sense of taste. I've also tried the Biotene products and they were the same, non-effective.

Anyway in February of this year I decided I should try Biotene's mouthwash, because I hadn't tried it before. It made my breath worse, the coughing and the hacking around me was so much that when I came home I googled "people who have not been helped by Biotene", and I happen upon a website. This website is by a Dentist and I've seen many posts here wishing dentists and doctors would take up your cause and help in this never-ending suffering.

This dentist has so much information on her website and she's not intimidated by any questions anyone has. It is nothing new, it is not anything she has developed, but what she has done is that she is using products that many of us has used before, but with a different twist. I know that many of you here think that everyone is a spammer.

I know you know what's it like to travel in a bus and have people coughing and sniffing all around you have encounterd the ones who like to bring other people's attention to you to let them know that you smell. It is awful.Getting back to the dentist. She uses these products that we have used but in a reverse way. The only product that she manufactures is the gum. Her system consists of using Closys mouthrinse first.

Yes, Closys which many of you on here have complained about. She says the mouth must be in an alkaline state first in order to protect weakened enamel, then get this, brush with Crest regular toothpaste, then rinse with Listerine, yes Listerine and to supply the teeth with protection finish off with ACT not ACT restore. Then throughout the day make sure you are chewing 6.5 grams of xylitol gums or mints.

The xylitol in the gum she says after 5 weeks will eliminate the streptococcus mutans from the teeth and in 6 months remove it from the tongue. That's a lot of chewing. When I read all this information I was shocked so I sent her an email and she responded immediately. I tried to buy the Closys from amazon, but the international shipping rates are too high, even for the gum.

So I decided to look for a substitute for the gum where I'm from, It's called xylichew, I get it from the health food store. It's not cheap. They have different flavors like: fruit, spearmint, peppermint and cinnamon. I prefer the fruit, because when I use the others there's that sulphuric scent in my nose. Warning though, if you suffer from TMJ, the gums a bit hard, they are only to be chewed for 2mins after every acidic meal.

The good thing I like about this dentist too, is that she recommends eating cheese and milk after an acidic meal. Do you remember how Dr. Katz forbid these foods. Anyway the gum has been helping me. I've been able to stand in the presence of the "superior ones", if only for a moment.

Before you curse or throw down the gauntlet at this information you must ask yourself: have I been cured yet, though many things have come down the pike, have they worked, or why I'm struggling in my own strength to find the answers to cure this bad breath. Well this woman hasn't had a cavity in 20 years and she is 60 years old and she hasn't had a cleaning in that long either.

Go ahead visit her blog and read the information about xylitol. I hope this helps people like Maria, Hopeful and others who have been frustrated for so many years. Remember any questions you have about these things, this woman is not afraid to answer. Sorry this has been so long but I wanted to post this information for a while now . Her website is askdrellie.blogspot.com. I don't know how to link it.
